Poor 2.0
The staff at this hotel are neither professional nor competent. They are very unfriendly especially the guy at the concierge. When I asked him about tickets to Harry Potter, he rudely stated that there were not tickets and that he had told me three times that we could take the risk to go up there and find out. He had no inclination of helping out. The other issue was with management. We stayed there a total of 8 nights unfortunately. We stayed for 5 nights then went to Paris and came back for another three nights. You'd think they would appreciate the return business. When we returned, they had only their worst room facing the train station left for us even though prior to our departure, I had requested a quiet room for my kid. After a lot of struggle, I finally reached the Manager by the name of Majahar. He promised another room facing away from the train station the next day. So in the morning, I double checked with the receptionist again and they assured me of it but low and behold when we returned to the hotel again in the afternoon, they stalled giving the room key. The receptionist just left me there and went back to the office for almost an hour. Finally, she comes and says there has been an error and they don't have the room they promised me??? I asked to talk to the manager Mahajar and he wouldn't come out to even face me!! At the end, they downgraded me to a lower level room. Avoid train station facing rooms at all costs! Customer service unheard of

Good but could be better - Great Location to Tube
Overall, good location very close to Underground. Room with king bed was very small so when we returned for 5 night stay, we upgraded to a studio room which was much more space with a view. We arrived to a room partially cleaned with products in shower, partial bottle of water, etc. Requested it to be re-cleaned while going for dinner which wasn't done. Was cleaned following morning but it still wasn't set up as it was when we stayed a prior time on our trip. Went to front desk and they wrote a list deficiencies and this was still not done.Girl who cleaned room didn't speak English and overall didn't do a great job so this is a part of the problem. Each day I asked her for facecloths (5 days in a row), room had no wine/bottle opener which she finally got day later. Cleaning wasn't as thorough as it should be for the prices charged. Pool was a bit too cool for comfort and steam room was not working. Room flooded from shower on our 2nd last night so we had to be moved. This took hours out of our 2nd last day. They did refund us our upgrade for 2 nights which was appreciated. Front desk and concierge were very helpful, location great. The restaurant for dinner is superb but expensive especially for our Canadian dollar. Meals were fantastic in both taste and presentation. I would consider staying again but would check for other hotels in Waterloo for pricing prior to booking here. London is expensive so would just shop around. If not staying there, go for a great dinner!

It’s raining it’s pouring!
From the moment we arrived we had issues. The first room they put us in had no air-conditioning. I called the front desk three times before I had to physically go down to complain. When I got to the front desk there were people standing around and no one answering the phones. They told me a technician would come up and look at the unit. We waited over an hour and he never came. They did switch our room and gave us a free breakfast; which was very nice. The second night it was thundering and raining. We heard faint dripping noises but couldn’t find the source and assumed it was outside. We turned out the lights and went to bed. All of a sudden we heard a whoosh sound and realize that water was pouring in through the light fixture in the ceiling. I called the front desk and again after multiple calls had to go down and found that once again there were people standing around not answering the phone’s. Again they did change our room but needless to say two nights and two separate issues is enough for me! Plus the front desk was not attentive or helpful. The only positive was ha I called the front desk and again after multiple calls had to go down and found that once again there were people standing around not answering the phone‘s. High tech but not functional
Park Plaza London Waterloo is a fairly new hotel. The hotel is contemporary and high tech but not very functional. Our first room was on the third floor. The shower is poorly designed. When we took a shower the water ran onto the bathroom floor. There isn't a splash guard underneath the shower door to prevent the water from running onto the bathroom floor. The manager addressed our concern, we were moved to the thirteenth floor and received an upgrade. The room was definitely better; not as much water ran onto the bathroom floor. However, the black tray on top of the cocktail table was cracked. It was repaired using grey duck tape. I took a picture for my records, refer below. The cleaning staff forgot to leave face clothes several days during our 5 day stay. They also didn't sweep the hardwood floor daily. The most enjoyable part of our hotel stay was the outstanding service we received daily from the concierge, Danny. He was extremely helpful, honest, knowledgeable, and gave really good directions for touring the city via walk and/or train/bus. He saved us at least a 100 pounds per person if we would have booked a tour bus. Additionally, Danny was instrumental in finding us great seats at a discount price to the musical Dream Girls. Great customer service is a lost art; however, Danny 'Get It'! Thank you Danny for making our vacation in London enjoyable!

Poor 2.0
We won't be back - I don't enjoy being locked in
We didn't have robes in our room, when we got to the spa we found everyone else in there had robes, including the children. The spa didn't have anyone on reception so we couldn't ask about this. I went in to use to women's toilet and the handle came off so I was stuck in the toilet for around 5 to 10 minutes. I called out but there was no one to help me, I didn't have my phone so couldn't call the hotel for help and there wasn't a panic button in the toilet. I went to the main hotel reception to explain what had happened and the receptionist replied 'well you seemed to have got out'. Not the response I was looking for. Our room was dusty (see attached), as well as not having any robes, the blind was ripped so let a lot of light in (see attached), room service was painful to order over the phone as the person could barely speak english, we were told it would take around half an hour but it took closer to an hour. By that point it was gone 10pm and we were no longer that hungry. We were charged £3 service charge at the bar for 2 drinks and had to wait around for the barman to give us the bill, in the meantime he smashed a glass on the floor. When we checked out, it was the same rude receptionist from the night before, he didn't ask how our stay was (as he probably didn't want to have this discussion as he could tell from our faces we were not happy with our stay).
