The onsen was the best Iโve ever been in. The outdoor โwood spasโ with about 10 different minerals and essential oils was absolutely fantastic.
My only gripe is that the half board meals are identical day to day. I only stayed 2 days, so Iโm not sure how frequently the food items change. I will say the selection is giant. Because Iโm used to places that change the food options daily.. I tried to eat through the whole buffet on the first day, trying little bits of everything. Had I realized it didnโt change, I would have just had larger portions of some items and tried other stuff the next day.

A must stay onsen resort
The room was beautiful, the onsen tubs were gorgeous and there were so many options for tubs. The dinner buffet was the best I've had at a hotel. My only disappoinment was trying to buy gifts from the shop onsite. I didn't realize they close at 11am. So with my hands full of items, they informed me the shop was closing. They did not offer to check me out or direct me to a register, just out of the shop. So I put all my items away and walked out, but I really wanted those items!

Amazing hot spring varieties. Unfortunately their rooms are worn out and in need of an upgrade, and the food at its buffet dining was mediocre at best.

Pay as you eat onsen!
The dinner food had alot of choices but the quality was lacking. The beef was dry and tough. The salmon sashimi was mediocre. They had a special food but very disappointing. Then after dinner, they require you to settle the bill. I think its best to settle everything when you check out. Even after clarification with the front desk they insist that i pay before 9pm!! I believe that management should review their policy.

This property is located in Date and is quite inconvenient overall. It is located in the middle of nowhere. However I guess all guests would arrive at the property in their own transport. It was disappointing because standard room did not offer private Onsen (description mentioned indoor onsen; however thereโs a note in the room written in Japanese that the water coming out of the tap is the same kind of water in the onsen ๐); the overall amenities of the hotel is very very dated (they could have upgraded them whilst retaining its heritage/traditional aspect); the toilet โoffersโ multiple functions eg bidet, rinsing bottom etc however none of them worked; the sink was full of scums and was positioned so low that will suit a 3-year-old toddler; buffet dinner and breakfast were very very ordinary (didnโt give me an appetite to enjoy). Overall donโt be deceived by the grand reception hall as youโll find it very disappointing once you head up to the room. Very disappointed by the amenities (without private onsen) and the price they charge. Way overpriced.
