"Location was ideal for our four night stay. Located a short walk from Kokura Station, we were able to get checked in and into a restaurant for dinner within 45 mins of arriving by train from Osaka. Room was clean, and adequate in size for four adults. There was no servicing of the room during the stay, which meant damp towels some days. Kitchenette had the basics which was helpful for heating up combini meals."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Kitakyushu

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Kitakyushu is during March, April, and June, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those interested in discovering the city's historical and cultural gems, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This duration allows visitors to immerse themselves in the rich history, exploring significant landmarks such as castles, museums, and natural parks. Activities like camping, biking, and enjoying hotsprings can also contribute to a great value-for-money experience, making Kitakyushu an excellent choice for those travelling on a budget.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Kitakyushu, visit the Deals or Last-Minute Deals section on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates on accommodations close to your travel date. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you're more likely to see flash sales and special promotions, helping you secure the best prices. Additionally, Smart Shopping is a handy comparison tool available via the app, allowing you to compare hotel prices and amenities easily. This way, you can stay informed about your favourite hotels and seize opportunities for budget-friendly stays in Kitakyushu.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, having some flexibility with your travel dates could lead to savings on your stay in a Kitakyushu hotel. If you're in search of distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. Should the price lean towards the higher end, we will suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, helping you to secure a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Choosing accommodation near major attractions or city centres can provide convenience but is usually likely to come with higher prices. For more affordable options, consider hotels located in less central areas or neighbourhoods, allowing you to balance cost with accessibility to the sites you wish to visit. You might also look into independent hotels situated further afield, which can offer a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
