Very enjoyable. A lift would have been good, but we managed the stairs.

We found this hotel to be handy to things but quiet and each meal we ate there was excellent. Our room was comfortable and looked out to the front drive where we often saw rabbits hopping around. The staff were hard working and cheerful. All in all a very pleasant stay.

    Happy to recommend

A comfortable hotel which was a short drive to Urquart castle on loch ness. I cant comment on public transport as we had a car. I think this is easiest way to get around. Scottish breakfast was enormous and tasty.

Great place, shame about the temperature

This hotel is a lovely old building. The room we stayed in was large with high ceilings and a comfortable bed. There were places where the paintwork could do with a touch up but nothing major. The shower was great and the meal in the evening was delicious. The only downside to our stay was the temperature of the room. Maybe we were unfortunate in staying here as the weather was changing. The room was freezing when we went first went in, and the radiator didn't come on until 5pm. We went for our delicious meal and returned to the room at 8pm, which was still cold. In the morning the room was freezing again and the radiator didn't come on until 8am, which would not give enough time for the room to heat up to any sufficient temperature before checkout. It is unfortunate that we experienced this issue as other than that it was a lovely place to stay. I assume staying here in the warmer months wouldn't have this problem, so if you're in the area I'd definitely recommend it.

Spacious room, well looked after and nicely decorated. Quiet rooms as hotel is off the main road. Heating working very well. New general manager just jointed and will further improve food offerings etc. I highly recommend this place!

    Well worth a booking

A 3 night stay. Absolutely no complaints. The double bed was extremely comfortable. The room was pretty basic but had everything I needed and was very clean. The shower was amazingly powerful. I would recommend this establishment.

Room excellent, clean and good size. Only disappointment was the self-collect 'breakfast bag' rather than a proper breakfast.

  • 2.0.Poor

This hotel is a poor example of highland hospitality. There was none. The welcome by the individual who described himself as the hired help was derisory. Payment was taken in full before we were informed that the "very good " and "a la carte" breakfast advertised on the hotel's own website and included in the £130 room cost would be a bag of "whatever they can find in the kitchen" to be taken from the communal fridge outside our room filled at 10.45pm the night before.. No staff were available in the morning...the hotel seemed to have been abandoned with a note on the reception asking for the room key to be left. No disposable tumblers nor any bottled water in the room so drinking fron the tap it is...the kettle was too big so couldn't be filled from the sink so no tea or coffee..There was no put down space in the room but we did have three beds.although we booked a double room. The shower couldn't be used at full power as the tray overflowed. Other hotels have risen to the Covid challenge. This hotel failed miserably.
