The breakfast menu and cooking need improvement. The scrambled eggs were dry and other meals were not up to standard. Often overheard guests talk negatively about the food.

6/10 Good

Stayed for 2 nights in one of the rooms closer to the bridge before heading to Savaii. We happened to be there when a few national and international celebrities were staying as well so that was nice! Pool is lovely, food at Lapita Restaurant was nice and entertainment from Cindy on Wednesday night was fun (NB: it's advertised as a family show but her jokes are more on the R18 side lol). Lots of facilities and activities to make use of so you never run out of things to do. A couple of points to make - 1) sliding cupboard doors constantly came off the hinges and jammed which made it unsafe for our walking toddler, 2) the toilet itself had yellow/brown stains in and around it. We did the best we could to clean it with the toilet brush and our antibacterial Wipes but to no avail, definitely needs baking soda and a deep clean, 3) the beds were lower to the ground than a standard bed which was great for our toddler but may not be suitable for others. As we only stayed for a couple of nights and we're generally not fussy people, we didn't think it was worth reporting right away but did mention the first two to staff upon checkout. Overall was a nice stay but we didn't feel like we were in Samoa.

6/10 Good

The property was nice in that it offered good views from practically every room, as far as I could see. However, I was unimpressed with the overall service, food and amenities. The lounge area often had loud, American music that was not to my taste. It took a long time to get service from the bar or restaurant unless I ordered room service, which came promptly. The food was less than impressive. I stayed for 3 days and tried a number of different dishes and I couldn't finish any of them despite being hungry. The sheets on my bed had been repaired - a large whole sewn up - and were obviously old. The bed itself was comfortable, though noise from a wedding party (including loud music) made it difficult to fall asleep. I had been staying at another hotel in the previous week - The Tanoa - where I found the staff, food and comfort superior to Taumeasina and at a fraction of the price.

8/10 Very good

The overall experience was great except that I slipped on the property causing scratches on my knee, finder and forehead. There was no light and a sign to warn guests to watch out as it rained heavily that night. The area is right outside of the bar and the way to the villas where I stayed. A report was filed that night with raw scratches with the Security Manager
