Friendly service from both Talia and Augusta, beautiful oceanside grounds, clean beach and cabins , great snorkling right off the long pier, free use of kayaks and paddleboards, willingness to arrange logistics for outings, and flexibility of meal arrangements were all top notch. Hired drivers like Leo and Wilson were friendly and efficient. No real downside, though the quiet location in Sandy Bay means there is little to walk to, so taxis or buses need to be taken to restuarants, grocery stores, etc.

We loved Puerta Azul! So peaceful and relaxing. We will return!

Beautiful grounds and private beach area, friendly and efficient staff! Quiet and relaxing for a smaller boutique resort with complimentary hot cooked breakfast. The owner and manager were always available and willing to help with any planning. Will stay again (& again & again).

Talia is a wonderful host. Anything you need just ask. Very knowledgeable about the area and services. The accommodations were as expected, nice and quiet area with beautiful water to swim/kayak/snorkel/paddle board. Very safe environment as there is 24/7 security on property. As mentioned in the previous reviews there are chickens next door and will be up early in the morning. Ear plugs are provided, but they really were not that bad. Breakfast - eggs made as you like them, bacon, and some fruit, toast, coffee or water. Perfect way to start off the day. Shared kitchen is very convenient if you need to put something in the refrigerator or freezer. There is also a stove and microwave. Location is not far from West End or West Bay. Also, there is a new grocery store not that far and an easy walk along the beach if anything is needed. I would definitely recommend and plan on staying here again this next year.

Our Puerta Azul stay was awesome, mainly due to the level of attention the owner provides, as well as the cleanliness and comfort of our room. Hot water showers! Although the hotel is not close to a lot of attractions and the swimming conditions aren’t ideal, this is a great quiet stay for couples, and the breakfasts are superb. A short taxi drive away are several sites to see. We highly recommend Lionardo for any island tours.

This place is amazing. Spent almost a week in Roatan and a different place on the water everyday from the most expensive on the island to some more “economical” places. The service, style, and overall vibe here is awesome. They have everything from kayaks on the beach, sup’s, snorkeling gear, clean and modern houses, and a great host. Saw a bad review where someone complained about the roosters starting early and it is kinda a thing but she provides earplugs if that’s a problem. Personally I like it and adds to the cool jungle beach thing going on here. I travel a lot and rarely hassle a review but actual value here is great. What you get for the cost definitely made some of the other places we stayed in Roatan look bad. For sure would return and recommend to friends.

Quiet location, excellent and very helpful & professional landlady and good evening meal & breakfast. Secluded location and very quiet beach area - perfect for peace and relaxation.

Excellent welcoming delicious breakfast clean rooms, easy access to beach, snorkeling . The only thing is we were a group of friends and there’s no bathroom or shower door.
