Great stay- 4 stars overall
Overall this was a great stay. Some things were outstanding, others were not as good, but on average, I would rate this place a 4/5 or 8.5 out of 10. Rooms 1, 2 and 3 are in an interesting location. They had no view, as you look at a courtyard with limited light, and lacked privacy (next to main walkway), but the plus side was that they were super close to the lobby, were more quiet (no noise from Taboo beach club down the road) and had good Wifi. Service overall was outstanding (5 star). Lalo, Miriam and Francisco were amazing. The breakfast situation was confusing... Breakfast was included, but only certain items were complimentary without any reason. Example - an omelette was included for free, but pancakes were not. Juevos Rancheros were free, but Chilequiles were not. There was no logic in this. Either make the whole thing included, or give people an allowance (say 300 MX) and let them order what they want. I don't really love eggs, so it was an annoyance that I had to pay extra for something I liked each day. However, overall this was a great stay. I also had zero COVID concerns staying here. Housekeeping was excellent and everything was spotlessly clean.

Pros: Beautiful hotel. The pictures do no justice. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Definitely a bohemian, hippy vibe. The staff is so nice and willing to do anything for you. We also received a free upgrade on our last night. BIKES BIKES BIKES! So having access to a bike is Huge on Tulum beach. This hotel offers FREE bikes on a first-come, first-serve basis. Trust me, it’s a two way street but cars are respectful and won’t try to pass you unless there are no other cars coming. Breakfast is included for FREE! You have a choice of juice and coffee, a fruit bowl and an egg dish (scrambled, sunny side up, etc.). This breakfast is served in their beach side restaurant. Lunch and drinks are also offered there if you’d like to spend the day at the beach. Carlos is the best waiter to have. Location is everything! You are at THE BEST SPOT location wise. When walking out the hotel, if you turn left, you have all the restaurants everyone speaks about with prices ranging from $-$$$$. Do your research. For those looking to go to Taboo, it literally right next door but don’t be afraid to go to the other places. A general tip: the beach side has the more expensive restaurants, while the other side of the street has the cheaper places. -Also there is a convenience store right in front for all your last minute needs. Con: The only con about this hotel is how hard their bed is BUT, you didn’t go on vacation to lay in bed so for me it was totally with the sacrafice

It's not really fair to rate this property right now with Covid-19 going on, but I will say this. Any hotel, when pondering re-opening, should judge whether re-opening at a limited capacity is worth the potential negative rating you may receive. Some guests will only focus on their unmet expectations. Since this review comes with the disclaimer that this was recently after reopening, I'll just point out 3 pros/cons of this property: Pros: 1) Beautiful pool 2) Comfy Bean Bags outside most rooms 3) Attentive owner Cons: 1) Very few rooms have unobstructed view of beach (even premium rooms) mostly due to the layout. 2) Skeleton Staff (stayed at three other hotels during covid-19 and finding a staff member here usually meant walking out to the security hut) 3) During covid, limited power and running water. We were told it would be 7pm-9am but it was actually very inconsistent. More similar to an eco-hotel although it isn't billed that way. Anyways, this review shouldn't mean much to people staying here maybe 3-6 months after because things will be mostly back to normal. After our first night the owner did give us the master suite as an act of good will, which was kind of him. In my opinion, they just opened too early without a solid plan of managing customer's expectations. But corona affected the Yucatan in a very drastic manner, so also have to understand that.

The property has a lot of potential. However, my assisment might be different because I went during COVID and there were only 3 other rooms booked when I went. All of those were in our group, so we were the only ones there during our stay. This made it, so no power, running water was available during 9am-7pm hours. Which made it difficult to use the bathroom, have AC and so that was challenging. The rooms are okay and do have decent amount of space. The staff did their best but they were dealt a difficult task during COVID.

Awesome hotel, staff is always in a good mood and happy to help, the location is great, and the breakfast is delicious. For those wondering about the seaweed problem, it really depends on the currents; we were there for 8 nights and we had 3 days of crystal clear water and 5 with seaweeds. We were also lucky enough to witness turtles hatching twice during our stay! We highly recommend this place.

Wonderful Hospitality and Service
Our 2 night stay before attending a wedding in another town was perfect! Clean, comfortable with a good location and most importantly a super friendly and accommodating staff and manager. Maria is so hospitable going above and beyond to accommodate her guests. When we asked to move to a room with more light, she upgraded us kindly to a beautiful room that was light and fresh. Lots of beautiful and special rooms and the hotel restaurant is sweet for breakfast. It's an excellent boutique hotel. The seaweed is an unfortunate situation for all hotels right now in the area, but I'm happy to report there were no odors from it with the breeze and their continued efforts to move it back towards the water. The pool was clean and very refreshing! A very enjoyable stay; we would certainly return!
