Amazing place, so full of history. The included breakfast was great and the free history tour was amazing. You really painted a picture of the civil war for us and made it come alive. Highly recommend.

As Aussie we didn't know much about the civil war so we stopped in at Vicksburg on our drive from New Orleans to Memphis and we are so glad we did. The house is amazing - thoroughly enjoyed the house tour after breakfast in the beautiful dining room. Our Magnolia suite was clean, well appointed and the steps up to our super high bed was a novelty. The staff were friendly and happy to give suggestions for dinner. 10South was a highlight for dinner and drinks.

We have just stayed in the Camelia room for 1 night. A lovely ground floor room. (as we were travelling from Australia we appreciated not having to take big suitcases up the stairs.) It was a large room and most comfortable. Overall the stay was really nice with a beautiful breakfast and very welcoming hostess who provided a lot of information on the original family and times when the home was built. It was nice to hear about the 'people' and life, rather than just facts and figures on the dates and ages of furniture and belongings etc in the house, as we had received when visiting some other homes in Natchez. We can all relate more to people and lifestyle, than just objects.

If you wish to stay in a beautifully restored 19th century mansion, then this is the place to go. The owners and staff are warm and inviting and are happy to share the history of the area and the home. David, the chef, provides an exquisite breakfast on a silver service dining table, and if you take his guided tour of the property after breakfast you will be amazed at the history of the house. This is a B&B with beautiful character. I wish I had set more time aside to spend in Vicksburg to hear more of the stories of the area from these wonderful hosts.

A group of friends stayed in this historic hotel; we all loved it! The house is accurately restored to its pre-Civil War stature, with elegant breakfast and sitting rooms. The breakfast was delicious; traditional Mississippi style. We highly recommend the tour of the house, following breakfast. The woman who guided us was articulate, knowledgable and true to the historical context; rendering the house tour the highlight of our stay in Vicksburg.

The bed was very ‘creaky’ . Super old mattress that made noise every time we shifted in the night
