Nice hotel
I had a problem at the start wich took almost a hour to resolve. I had booked and paid for my entire stay however i was told i could not be checked in because i did not have a credit card on me. I was told if i don't have a card i will have to leave $900 cash wich was still no help as i only had $500 on me and £300 wich at 1st they was not accepting. Then after going back and fourth they accepted the $500 wich i was not happy about as litrally that was all the money i had left coming of two holidays, so i was very limited on things to do and places to go. Had to convert my £300 or i would of had no money at all and would of been a pointless trip. So was not happy with the customer service. Especialy when this was not made clear at all when i booked my stay. However the actual hotel itself is immaculate. Absolutly lovely super clean. Very impressed and worth the money 100%. Despite the problem i had i will definatly recomend this place and i would come back i will just know in the future to bring a card. Had it of not been for the card issue i would of gave a 5/5 but i will give a 4/5

Worst service I've ever had at an upscale hotel...
Staying at East, Miami may have been the worst experience I have ever had at a upscale hotel. Let me begin by explaining my situation and then how East continued to disappoint, time after time. I had heard great things about East, Miami. When I was booking my trip to Miami, for business, I decided to book my stay at East. I also decided to bring my wife (who needed and deserved a vacation) and my 10 month old daughter. I called the day before our trip to make sure that a crib was in our room and that there would be adequate refrigeration for bottles, etc. When we checked into East the person at the front desk wanted me to pay for our stay, again. Not pay the $150 or whatever it is per night hold for incidentals. I asked, "do you mean an imprint for incidentals?" I was told no... Expedia hadn't paid them yet so they wanted me to pay them. I had to show them an email that I had already paid. This argument went on for about 45 minutes. They finally took an imprint for incidentals and as I told them to... take it up with Expedia. We then went to our room. The accommodations are great. However, there wasn't a crib in our room and the fridge didn't allow for our bottles to be in it. Part of my hour plus check in was about the crib which they ensured was in the room. I thought not a big deal. They sent up a crib and a little fridge. We waited in the room for a couple hours for them to do this. The next day, when we had the do not disturb on the hotel called our room and wok

Disappointing stay, weird policies
I was excited to return to Miami and to stay at this hotel which looked nice in photos. It was just as nice in person but the service was beyond disappointing. 1) Inspection policy - For starters, they have a weird policy (that I wasn't aware of before booking) of needing access to your room at least once every 24 hours. So even if you don't need any room service, you are supposed to make an appointment to have someone enter your room at least once a day. I don't get it either. 2) Food delivery - For a five night stay, it was a no brainer I would order food at some point. It seems as a means to discourage ordering out of room service, they refuse to allow the delivery person to bring the food up to your door. I asked if someone at front desk could bring up the deliveries, they said no. Not even for a fee due to food safety issues. Okay understandable. So can someone escort the delivery person up to my room? The answer is still no. No reason was given. For the money you're paying, it should be an expected service. My last stay at the Hotel Victor in Miami Beach, they offered great service and would have someone escort the delivery person to bring you your order. Pro - I requested a fridge and they did grant that so that's probably the one positive thing. Overall not happy with my stay or service. I expected better customer support.

Poor 2.0
Unfortunately, our stay was extremely unsatisfactory. We were there for a 10 night extended stay. Our first night in we ordered room service. I ordered the rotisserie chicken and the chicken was raw—It was pink and red in the middle. My boyfriend’s club sandwich was soggy and gross. When we called to notify of the raw chicken, someone apologized and said they would bring up an adjusted room service bill right away—This never happened. We decided to try Sunday brunch at Quinto la Huella. We both ordered the oatmeal, which the menu described with candied orange and blueberries. It came out with strawberries and no candied oranges. The oatmeal was cold and soupy—Almost like instant microwave oatmeal. Our meal was not edible and the service was terrible—We ended up leaving to find somewhere to have breakfast outside of the hotel. In addition, we had rented a car and valeted the car for our entire stay. The first day we requested the car back from valet the exterior was muddy, filthy, and dirty—When we handed the car over to the valet initially, it was clean. Another day, we waited over an hour for the valet to retrieve our vehicle. They lost our car! These are only a few examples of the bad experiences we had during our stay. The dining and service at this "high end" hotel was the worst we’ve ever had. The fact that we could not dine at our own hotel during our extended stay was extremely disappointing. Our numerous requests to speak with a manager were never honored.

Good 6.0
This is a beautiful property situated in a fabulous area connected to a brand new mall. A Metro-mover station is located at the foot of the building, making it easy to get all around the downtown Miami area for free. The views from our room that included a wraparound balcony were spectacular. Where there is room for improvement is at the point you drive up to check in. The valet attendants were not wearing uniforms that I could detect, and I felt uneasy turning over the keys to my car to someone who did not appear to work for the hotel. I had no hot water on the last day of my stay, and although I mentioned it to the front desk staff, the problem was acknowledged and blamed on the city of Miami, before thanking me for bringing it to their attention. I'm unclear what the city had to do with heating the water to my shower, but I let it go, disappointed that I wasn't offered some form of compensation for having no hot water. One last observation I'd like to mention is that although I let the hotel know in advance that I was celebrating my birthday at their property, the hotel's effort to make the occasion special was lacking. By comparison, the Mandarin Hotel, not far from this property where I celebrated a previous birthday, did everything possible to make my day special, by including a bottle of free Champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and a birthday card.
