Very good
I was very pleased with the service I received from Mark. He was most welcoming and helpful. I didn’t like the amount of stairs there were to climb but very much appreciated Mark’ help in carrying the luggage up and down. The beds were too low for comfort in getting in and out of them. It would have helped to have a chair in the room. The bathroom area is very small and presents difficulty in using it. I realize that this is an old house and I was very happy with the cleanliness of the room and the centrality of the location.

Very good
This hotel is in an excellent location in a classy, quiet and safe neighborhood ... a 5 min. walk (with luggage) to Victoria train/bus station. 15 min. walk to Buckingham Palace or 25 min. to Big Ben. In this *very* expensive city, it's good value for the location. Also close to restaurants and a food store that sells beer, wine and snacks. It is Victorian era so the stairs are steep. The owner helped with our luggage. We had room 8 (quite high up) which has a nice bathroom...but small like on a cruise ship. The room is small with two single beds, a dresser and closet. Not fancy but has a TV. Clean and comfortable but small: Welcome to Europe. Some of the rooms are cheaper because you use the bathroom in the hallway. No air cond. but the window opens fully. Owners are friendly. Breakfast included. Eggs and meat etc., cereal and a bit of fruit. Not tons of choice but just fine for us. This is not a Hilton. The owners do not pretend that it is. Some reviews call it a guest house. But it's exactly as described on their web site ... read the content closely. *My rating is based on this type of hotel ... very good for the class of accomodation*. Still, It's not ideal for everyone ... no elevator or AC, not fancy or romantic ... it's a convenient place to stay for touring London and affordable for the heart of the city. Perfect for 3 days in my view. The small outdoor patio is a bonus; not a scenic view but quiet.

Good
Liked: - close to Victoria Station - safe and beautiful area - helpful staff - fantastic breakfast - clean Less satisfied: - bathroom was terribly small in our room, maybe 4 ft by 4 ft including shower, toilet, and sink...hard to do anything. - while staff were nice, I was surprised that while chatting with my fellow traveler and myself (both women), one owner used rather foul language regularly, and once responded to our knock on the office door only wearing shorts (no shirt...getting ready to shower). We didn't have any problems, but I just found this rather unprofessional and uncomfortable.

Exceptional
A Jolly Good BnB
Mark and Simon's place feels like the last of a dying breed. In an upscale neighborhood where properties are purchased in the millions of dollars, this family operated & owned BnB still offers quality service & comfort at an affordable price. You simply cannot beat the location. We picked Lynton House initially because of it's location close to Victoria Palace Theater for Hamilton. We were sold on it by fellow travelers reviews on the warm reception and breakfast. The neighborhood is gorgeous. It's within a short walk to Victoria Station & surrounded by many restaurants and cafes. It's also a beautiful walk over to the V&A. I recommend a route down Pont St to enjoy the architecture. Frankly, it can't be stated enough. You feel so welcomed here. Mark was on hand to greet us when we arrived, exceedingly helpful with any questions, & he makes a delicious English breakfast. In the breakfast room, fellow travelers are talkative, warm & friendly as people discuss their plans & travels. Many fellow guests are repeat customers, which shows that quality & care matter here. Mark takes time to learn guests by name & as he works his way through the breakfast room, asks, by name, if you need anything. It's a wonderful touch. You even may hear a serenade or two from the kitchen. While the accommodations aren't luxury persay, they're charming, clean, comfortable and spacious. My 1 suggestion would be to install a full length mirror in room 1. Short people like me will thank you.

Very good
Rooms are very small, but we knew that at booking. More importantly, they were clean. Great breakfast, hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Allowed us to leave luggage on arrival and departure at no cost. Great location, very short walk to Victoria coach and train stations. Pubs and restaurants nearby.
