The pool is small. If you’re looking to tan the pool gets little sun. Restaurants on site are good. Close the main tourist temple and staff is friendly.

A little gem in Yangon
The Savoy is a charming little hotel The best thing about the Savoy is the unparalleled service. I had arrived very late for check-in due to a massively delayed flight and the hotel went to great lengths to make sure that I was comfortable. They even prepared a complimentary dinner as they figured that I must not have had the time to eat. Top notch service!

Stayed 1 night at this classic colonial style boutique hotel. Delighted with the early check in without extra charges. Room is spacious and clean. We had pool side high tea by paying US$20 per pax but I think it worth the money. Breakfast was very good and I love the atmosphere. The location Is about 15 min walk to Shwedagon and 2000 by taxi . Generally we had a wonderful stay in this hotel!

Cosy hotel with colonial charm
Rooms are spacious, staff are friendly and helpful. Only slight concerns I had were that the room I stayed in had a musky smell, the hot water didn’t work very well (came in spurts so water will be cold then very hot) and the pool could have been cleaner. But not bad enough to complain about. Overall experience is good and will recommend this hotel. While it’s not right smack in the city, all the popular restaurants and places are only a USD1 to USD3 away by grabcar (which are very easy to get), so location is still considered convenient.

4/10 Fair

Expensive, insects and poor water pressure
Lets start with the good. The staff was great, everyone was warm and hospitable. Its the Burmese culture I feel. This boutique hotel with a total of 30 rooms definitely has some nice colonial vibe and charm. The room was spacious. We stayed in a suite which overlooked the pool. The bad and the ugly - water pressure was extremely weak and the hot water tap was temperamental. There were quite a few mosquitoes in the room, you had to call reception to get insect repellent which unfortunately did little to nothing to combat this problem. The room price was expensive +++ for Myanmar standards. The food at the restaurant was not good and charges were high compared to other hotels in Yangon. Lastly, the hotel is located a little bit further away from downtown, this can be a good thing if you're looking to be away from the busy streets, but we found it inconvenient. Unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel to others.

Highly recommend this wonderful hotel
I can’t say enough good things about this incredible hotel. If you want historic Burmese design in an up to date, well maintained hotel, this is the place. Rooms and decor are beautiful as are the restaurants, bar, and pool area. staff could not be better. A luxurious oasis in the heart of Yangon. Close to attractions. Breakfast selection and quality is second to none. We were looking for accommodations that reflected old Myanmar - not chain hotels or franchises. Prices are on the upper end, but for us well worth every dollar spent. If I had to find fault, I would suggest that the bar stop playing contemporary American pop music. I believe those that choose this accommodation would prefer traditional or modern Burmese or Asian music. Also, seating in the rooms lacks the comfort level one would expect at this five star hotel. I’ve stayed in a lot of nice hotels around the world and this has to be in the top five!!

Fantastic hotel. Location is great, facilities are great, and there are good eating options very close by if you want to eat out. Staff are wonderful. Only minor issue we encountered was that the air con in our room didn't work that well (but not badly enough to complain about it either).
