Friendly staff make this visit wothwhile!
Our family (3 adults, 2 teens) recently enjoyed 3 nights stay at this hotel. We were keen to experience an authentic Ryokan stay. This hotel has been fitted to reflect Ryokan living - paper walls, futons, however the over-use of technology (confusing control panel for lighting, air conditioning etc) was quite confusing and very frustrating when trying to turn lights off to go to bed! Non- smoking room smelt very strongly of smoke in bathroom. Air conditioning was noisy and the option of leaving windows open instead was not possible as the rooms shared a balcony plus the traffic noise would be too much for rooms on the road-side. The staff at the hotel couldn't do enough to help though, they were very friendly and enjoyed practising their English with us. I had left my phone in the taxi on the way the staff tracked down the taxi and had it back to me within a few hours, they laughed off my suggestion I would pay the driver for returning as very unnecessary!! The location of the hotel is not great unfortunately as it is not close to a shopping or dining strip but it is very close to the train station. Good to experience this for a night or 2 as a base when touring other areas, rooms are nice but not necessarily comfortable to spend time lounging in

Great food in a modern Ryokan
We stayed one night to get the Ryokan experience. The dinner and breakfast was wonderful and plenty of food. The room was excellently decorated to look like it had outdoor space indoors. The jacuzzi tub was huge and a welcome treat as well as the massaging chair. We had a great experience in a traditional feeling room with all the modern amenities.

Perfect to begin Japan trip
The hotel is such a good way to start a trip in Japan. Breakfast is served traditionally or western in your rooms and the rooms are enormous and comfortable. There's not much in the area but it's either 2 mins to the nearest subway or I'd recommend buying the metro pass and walking 10 mins to the next station where you can use the pass. It's nice to not be in the madness of Tokyo the whole time.

Felt like an empress. :-)
Highly reccommend! This was one of the nicest ryokan/hotel/onsens I've ever stayed in! The facilities and amenities were fabulous, staff kind and helpful, and location near river was very nice. :-)
