Hôtel Miramar

Hard to locate hotel. Place Bienvenue address not specific enough.. Asked around and nobody knew of a "Hotel Miramar". Plus hotel entrance not visible coz it was below street level and raises security concerns coming back late at nite coz its not well lit outside. Room was small and ours was next to the elevator where you can hear doors banging and people talking. Walls seem to be paper thin that loud noise from the hallways esp in the morning when things got busy.(people, cleaning lady etc). Asked for a different room but was told that hotel was fully booked. Lucky for us to get that particular room. To top it all, there was no cream provided for the coffee, never mind the tiny plastic cups! Cose!a was nice enough to provide some cream for my coffee for the next morning but the following nights clerk was not as helpful and I had to drink the coffee black the rest of my stay.(another 6 days). The only redeeming points were that the AC was working perfectly and the separate toilet and bathroom looked newly redone and gets instant hot water from the dual showers. The day manager was nice the day we left telling us where to catch the bus near Gare Montparnasse because of the train strike that day. He also adjusted my final bill coz the previous night's clerk tacked on charges for breakfast for two we did not take. Room was not cheap but the hotel doesn't offer much. Hotel location was convenient 1/2 block from Gare Montparnasse ..but you have to give up some amenities.

We stayed a Saturday night. The Hotel does not have air conditioning. It is next door n over a Bar n Grill. The windows have to be open to allow the room to stay cool. The traffic noise is hardly tolerable for sleeping. The street people drink and carry on until 5:30 in the morning, drunk, yelling and fighting. The bar also stays open until very late so a lot of noise there also. The Hotel is nice and the staff helpful.

This hotel is located in the neighborhood of Gare Montparnasse and thus provide easy access. The room may be small (as exhibited in photos) while enough large to stay for business. The room is air-conditioned and can control the temperature with the controller. Wifi-connection was basically stable except for a very short period of time during my stay for 5 days. Supermarkets and restaurants are accessible around the Gare Montparnasse. The hotel staffs were basically kind. It seems that the hotel is open. This hotel offers good cost performance for your stay in Paris.

It is close to the Montparnasse train station and metro station. The Bus Direct to the Roissy Airport is just on the opposite side of the train station and one can assess it through the train station. There are several metro lines linking different areas as well. The receptionists are friendly on the whole but you need to leave the room key at the counter when you leave the hotel. Sometimes they asked for your room no. and check your name and sometimes not. The room is OK and clean. The price is reasonable.

When check out, the staff did not realize I paid via Expedia, and I was enforced to pay double. It might be because I check out early morning, but it was already 6 am. After I came back home, they refunded me, but that process was also slow and unprofessional. Also, it smelled bad in the room. I never recommend this hotel.
