Beautiful hotel with lovely staff, I've stayed here before. Room and facilities excellent. Great views from all rooms but the higher you go the better the view of course but ask for the city view. All the staff as always were top notch and had genuine kindness and a willingness to help plus most of them have a sense of humour too which helps. Breakfast was 8/10. On a nice summers day this hotel shines (I believe its Spanish owned hence the chilled out Mediterranean feel to it) Just a couple of negatives.. air conditioning didn't work and we encountered one rude receptionist (she had a hangover me thinks) Young or old you'll love this place. Just go and let them take care of you nothing is a problem. One last thing if you are a silver or gold Expedia member then you'll get at least 20% off all food and drink! And they do a wicked bloody Mary with all the trimmings to sort your head out. Great location and walking distance for train station to airport. We flew to Manchester for KD Lang. Manchester has a brilliant vibe. Just be prepared to see sadly too many of homeless and beggers. Big thumbs up to the bar manager and duty manager on at the weekend. My stay this time was 9.98/10

Not as described
Forget a "standard double room" if you're staying any length of time - because there's no where to store your clothes! My wife and I had (admittedly) large suit cases as we were staying 9 nights...we literally had no draws in our room, and the tiniest closet (partially filled with the refrigerator and safe) - we had to pay more and upgrade just so we didn't have to live out of our cases for the whole time. The food was average to poor, but the service (especially the food and drinks manager) was very poor. My wife has a gluten issue and we asked at the front desk - they were all enthusiastic to tell us how they could accommodate us - but when asked fore joy "the chef can't do that" was the response to asking for a baked potato instead of fries done in suspect oil. There was NOT ONE SOUL in the dinning area...too lazy to bake a potato?? No equipment was the response? Honestly the manager was even worse. He sat drinking and watching TV (football game) with other guests instead of addressing this (albeit minor) issue for us. I would NOT recommend this hotel, there is NO access for vehicles - so you will walk with cases a long way from parking, and there is NO concierge so forget getting help, and the upgrade to make the room reasonable to live in is costly. One bright area "Chris" the customer relations manager tried to rectify some of our disappointment... but there was little concrete action he could take. four and a half stars ? really?

It was my first time in Manchester and I was very excited about this trip. Check in was quick, we went to the first room but didn't like the view. Requested a new room with good View, though we were told that views are all similar but got a better view room. The room was clean, the hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, overall good experience with a few drawbacks. The room was warm and I found out that high rise buildings have no windows for safety reasons and I found that odd as there should be at least a small window to open to get fresh air. No window and on top of that the AC was not working that well. It felt like to air was coming, I went to the reception and one person said that is what the setting is but another gentleman the next day offered to brush up the vent giving it a thorough clean which will help and I agreed to it. Boy it made a big difference, so that sorted. Then we had issues with towels with house keeping, not enough towels. I requested and first couple of days the staff stocked enough supplies but then it went back to usually with less supplies and no so clean room. having said the small issues, the overall experience was not bad and a week stay in manchester was pleasant. I would still like to stay here on my next visit.

Nice pleasant stay
Stayed for 2 nights, the stay was pleasandt, the room was beautful, however, bathroom facilities were not particularly private. I ordered room service on the 2nd evening, as a vegetarian I ordered the cheese and pickle sandwich, but was brought ham and cheese instead. I didn't make a fuss as my partner ate the ham, and I was too hungry to wait for more food : there were not as many warm options at breakfast as I would have expected for vegetarians, e.g. veggie sausages, hash browns etc were not options. On the 1st night we unfortnately had noisy neighbours at around 2 - 3am The bed was so comfortable and location is Manchester superb and all-in-all very well priced hotel

Nice place in easy distance to city centre
Location is isolated and the precinct is under construction all around hotel. The hotel oasis is an expensive place to eat. Indian Tiffin Room the best for taste and value. The room is clean and comfortable; and free minibar of water and juices. Breakfast staff are nice and buffet is ample. There are many places as you walk to City Centre area (St Peter's Square and the library) to eat so worth getting out of First Street Zone. But if you are too tired to do so, there are options in that immediate area to eat and at HOME, next door. The hotel staff are courteous. The whole week I was there, one of the card machines was broken and staff had to keep exchanging the machines...tedious for everyone. Lobby is a bit bizarre with over sized fake 'tree' of plastic apples and flowers; flower vases overfilled and poorly arranged; excessive use of some very sweet smelling scent that is off-putting. Nice touches are the iced drinks from a glass cooler when you arrive, pleasant staff and prompt service.
