Hotel Spadai

Hotel is around the corner from Duomo and very close to everything else. Hit up Central Market for food and drinks. Bed was comfortable and most staff were pleasant. Sink was clogged but we didn't want to go thru the trouble of having them come in and fix the problem. Each night stand had a USB charging outlet. Breakfast was good. They don't change it up but there is a large selection. Street noise can be heard and we stayed in 111 so ask for a room away from street if possible. Our flight was cancelled so we were delayed one day. Asked to see if the hotel can help out and maybe offer a 50% refund for the first night. The person Expedia contacted at the hotel was Andra who I had a chance to meet. I wanted to explain in person how we waited for 7 hours and then our flight was canceled. I called immediately but since there was a time difference, I was too late. She basically told me it's my contract with Expedia so I needed to take it up with them. I tried explaining that if the hotel agrees then Expedia will be able to offer some kind of refund. I was shut-down with no hint of empathy. It's not the hotels fault that American Airlines canceled my flight so I fully understand but geez..a smile or a show of empathy would've been nice. We would definitely stay here again because overall it was a good experience.

The hotel is only 3-1/2 years old and it is sparkling clean. By far the most comfortable bed and pillow we have had in Europe with a bathroom much more modern than other hotels. Gorgeous window treatments and high ceilings and a great breakfast buffet. The bar is very tiny and pretty slow but that wasn’t the point of our stay here. The front desk was extremely helpful with lunch and dinner suggestions; we were very pleased with the quality and value of our meals. The location can’t be beat; just up the street from the Duomo and a 3 minute walk to L’Academie. Extremely comfortable and clean hotel. One of the best we have stayed in in Europe without having to break the bank.

Can't think of a single bad thing about its hotel. The first thing that dawned on us about this hotel was it's location, which is literally right next to the main cathedrals and the Basilica, so everything is literally a couple of minute's walk. Everything in this hotel is very new and modern and spotless. We were greeted by very friendly reception staff and were given a free upgrade, first to include breakfast and then from the comfort room we booked to the premium room. The room itself was very comfortable and spacious and extremely modern. Our favourite part of the hotel, like everyone else's was the bar and the happy hour every evening. The bar staff were incredibly friendly and the drinks selection they had were excellent - we were even given a free glass of prosecco for our first use of the bar. The happy hour was a buffet service, and you can help yourself to hams, cheeses, sandwiches and other Italian antipasti. The food is so good and there is so much of it you can make a dinner of it if you don't wish to go out. Best of all, like the minibar, it's completely free. Excellent stay and it's a shame we were only here for two days

This hotel really should be a 5 star hotel in my opinion. They upgraded our room, gave us 2 complimentary drinks at the hotel bar not to mention the service was amazing. Highly recommend the use of the spa, you get use of your own private locked spa room which has a seating area, jacuzzi tub and sauna. The location is fantastic, in the heart of the centre - shopping and restaurants. The breakfast for the price was not what I thought it would be but we would definitely stay here again!

We spent 3 nights at Hotel Spadai. The hotel is a 5-minute taxi ride from Santa Maria Novella train station, or a 10-minute walk (we had luggage so taxi for us). We arrived very early in the morning so our room wasn’t ready yet, however, the staff was very accommodating and secured our luggage for us so we could go explore. The staff from the minute we arrived were extremely friendly, polite, and helpful. They even made our reservation for Gallerie dell’Accademia for us which made it very easy to get last minute tickets and skip the line. Our room was beautiful, very classy and modern, and we were lucky enough to get one of the two rooms with a balcony. The nightly turn down service was a nice touch, as well. Lastly, we could not have asked for a better location. The hotel is literally steps from the Duomo and located near all of the restaurants, bars, and shopping (less than 5 minutes’ walk). We were easily able to walk to the train station to do a day trip to Pisa, as well. We were extremely pleased with our stay, and we just can’t say enough good things about the hotel. We’ll definitely stay at Hotel Spadai again on our next trip to Florence!
