Handy stop for an overnight stay, close to the beach, pubs and shops, and only about 20 mins walk from the train station.

Loved it!
The only thing I wished I had known was that this was the most popular gay nightclub in Brighton. All I needed was a pair of earplugs until about 2 AM. Otherwise, a great place in a great location, wonderful staff and the best breakfast ever!

Very disappointing stay
The hotel is nice and currently undergoing renovation work, which didn't affect our stay, but it is only single glazing, onto one of the busiest streets in Brighton, with multiple night clubs around it. The room was on the 4th floor, at the top of the building, and with a lovely view overlooking the sea and the pier. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and although the room was tiny, more suited to a single than a couple, it was mainly clean, and the bed was comfortable. At 11pm was when the problem started. Suddenly there was the deep thudding base beat, which kept us awake most of the night, and didn't stop until 6.30am, when we finally got a couple of hours of much needed sleep. We spoke to reception in the morning, and they informed us it was the club opposite, and were apologetic, and although the hotel was fully booked, they opened one of the rooms where there was scaffolding for us to try, if we wanted. It was at the side of the hotel, and only on the 2nd floor, and still a poorly fitted, single glazed window. We decided to cut our losses and leave that day rather than risk another noisy night. Overall, lovely, helpful staff, but the building is in serious need of updating. Not sure why it is rated as highly as we've stayed in much better places in Brighton.

Not as it seems....
Firstly, I used hotels.com and there was no indication that was a hotel that catered for specific sexualities and should probably inform you via these booking sites. However it made not difference. Arrival was ok, but you come in through the bar with no signage to indicate reception. Checking required a pre authorised credit card assuming this was for drinks / food etc. Room was very nice but arriving in the bar and ordering was told the pre authorised card was for damages !!!!! and you could not put anything on your room or even open a tab. I went to another bar as this was getting silly. Whilst I appreciate it has a certain eclectic taste , essentially everyone is quite scruffy, the breakfast tried to be nice and trendy but was overcooked with my orange juice glass tasting of Pernod. Positive notes.. Nice room, great bed and excellent shower. Would I stay again? No because I lacked the information to make an informed decision at the time of booking.
