    Historic Working class accomodation

Basic accomodation but neat and tidy with a historic charm about staying in workers huts.

The place is an old Mining Hostel and has seen better days. The kitchen bin needed emptying and the TV in the lounge did not work.

Budget accommodation with a budget price. Friendly front desk with helpful tips. Very comfortable beds and lovely soft and fluffy towels. Happy with our short stay. Thanks!

This place was close to town and cheap. Everything was okay. Dated but that’s what you expect at this price level.

We liked the location of the property. The murals on the buildings showing the local history was very much unexpected but very interesting. The room was a little tired but this was reflected in the price.

Too expensive. Dirty carpets which wouldn’t be acceptable anywhere else. Very poor amenities especially the shower. We didn’t book a room with a kitchenette because we didn’t want one but got it anyway. Damn awful. The toilet is but 2 steps away from the food preparation area (thankfully we didn’t use it) and the shower was next to useless. Water temperature went from hot to cold to hot and back again. Curtain didn’t stop water flooding floor mats and may as well not have been there. I can’t understand how this particular room (7) is still allowed to be lived in. It is, I admit, advertised as budget accommodation and “workman accommodation “ but too expensive and major renovations need to be done. I won’t be back. A positive note was the nice gentleman in the office.

We stayed in Queenstown for one night. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and the price was reasonable for a stay in an interesting old mining town.

Very friendly operators and helpful when i pointed out there was no heater in the room. The place is a little tired but is good value and well placed for the few sights in Queenstown - the Wilderness Railway, Spion Kop, LARQ gallery, the Paragon and the Empire Hotel. Although there was little green space in the property there is a nice little park just a block away for a picnic or relax.

You can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear. This is an old property, formerly single mans quarters and you can only do so much. It was clean and bed was comfy. TV signal was poor but that is the area.
