Plenty of options in Queenstown, don't stay here
Front desk indicated they didn't have my reservation and made up multiple lies to explain why (including that they didn't take bookings from hotels.com). Then I found my name on his computer screen when he couldn't. A room that presumably has been no smoking for some time reeked of smoke baked into the carpet, curtains, etc. (which track with the fact that the room looks to not have been updated since the 70s). Awful reception experience, awful place. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

For the price i paid i expect no holes in my quilt cover and at least a hairdryer. No wifi either. There were roadworks so getting to the motel was difficult but out of their control

Property undergoing renovations but no issue with that with your stay. Roadworks outside property make it a bit noisy however manageable. Recommended. Good value.

Located very well with less than 15 mins walk to town centre. Due to roadwork the access to the property was affected and it was great to get information from the hotel about the best way to arrive by car. Unfortunately the room we received (Room 20) was right near the office and the room had no privacy curtains so we had to shut the main curtain and block out the view. You could also see in to the room all the way from the road.

The kitchen was handy and the bathtub was nice and deep. The mattresses are soft and need replacing, the laundry room needs cleaning, the office needs to be open more than 9:30 to 4, and the rooms need air conditioning, especially those on the second floor. There is construction on the road in front of the motel, which is not their fault, but it makes accessing the property by car or by foot extremely difficult.

There was no communication from the property operator nor Expedia informed us that the access to the motel is blocked off by the town’s construction, this is very unprofessional. We arrived and couldn’t get in and had to drive to some place that is unknown to us and called the property, then at that time, they texted the alternate directions to us. We booked a lake view room, but the view that we had was the construction fences, ditches and machineries plus the noises from the construction. We paid more for free cancellation and the better view room, had the property or Expedia informed me about the construction and the impact to my room, I could have cancel this booking and choose a better alternative. The construction didn’t happened overnight, but the property operator seems to choose not to inform the customer. I’d appreciate Expedia to look into this and compensate for the inconveniences that I experienced.
