A handy spot for local attractions
Stayed here July 2017. Weather was horrific, but man at reception was like a ray of sunshine when we arrived. Had a 2-bedroom unit. Reasonably basic facilities, but fine, pretty much what we expected, so no complaints. Easy walk to Cuba St. and to Te Papa. We actually walked to the Parliament Buildings, which is a bit more of a stroll, but not too far. The No. 7 or 8 bus actually stops almost outside motel, which we figured out on second day. The No. 2 bus leaves from junction of Cuba and Manners streets to Weta Workshop, which we actually found to be really disappointing and not at all worth the visit! Local restaurants / takeaways will deliver direct to your motel room, which was a bonus when weather was too bad to venture out (we didn't have a hire car).

Centrally located. You get what you pay for.
Not an expensive motel and the location is perfect for walking in the city. The addition of parking is awesome. The staff were very helpful for our late check in. The rooms were clean but nothing flash. We were in room 204 and the fan in bathroom wasn’t working which made for a very damp space. We let them know so hopefully they will fix it as the ceiling is starting to disintegrate with the moisture. The shower is great. Just done general fix’s needed. Light in bedroom fell out of wall ( doesn’t work either) but we forgot to tell them. Beds are ok. Warm and clean but take your own pillow! Overall not bad if you take into account you are in the middle of the city ( loud) and not paying through the nose.

Exceptional 10.0
We needed a spacious unit with two separate bedrooms and good kitchen facilities. We also wanted to be handy to the city so our adult children, who were with us to visit family for Christmas, could be independent. This was the ideal motel. It had everything we neeeded and was in a quiet setting off the street. The parking was good, egress from the car park into Cuba Street was incredibly handy, and access to the motel when returning from either side of the city was easy. It was fantastic being so close to so many cafes and eateries in Cuba. The motel beds were really comfortable (we all slept really well) and the shower was great. Everything was clean and tidy, although a few towels needed bleaching - we should have swapped them. Overall, excellent. Thank you - we’ll be back.

Exceptional 10.0
We stayed for two nights at the end of a three week holiday touring the north island. This accommodation suited us very well. There was parking for our rental car, which we didn’t use while we were there because the position allowed us to walk where we wanted and enjoy experiences such as the Cable Car, museum, waterfront, shopping and the variety of food and drink areas. Cuba street is a fun, eclectic eating area one block from the motel. The room was comfortable and we made use of the kitchenette and spa. There is some noise at night, but only to be expected in the middle of a major city. Wifi is available but not consistent. We would stay there again and recommend it.

Good 6.0
It was convenient to where I was to work the following day. The room was clean and comfortable. Self catering was possible in the small but well equipped kitchen area. No food was available but it was only a few minutes walk from Cuba Street and its restaurants and the Z station was handy for basic breakfast foods. Excellent tv channels and free wifi are available as are plentiful supplies of tea and coffee. In the main the other guests were considerate but the family in the room above mine had a child that almost continuously ran along the balcony in the evening but fortunately sleep eventually overcame them but the caregiver could have been more considerate of others.
