Very good 8.0
Really nice boutique hotel
The room is a great size and I liked the decoration (although the portraits of dogs in period dress may be too whimsical for some I really liked them). Excellent amenities including a proper coffee machine, in-room safe, refrigerator, iron and ironing board and bathroom amenities (including toothpaste, toothbrush and a little vanity kit). The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning worked very well and there are blackout curtains that work well. I was in a room overlooking a side street so wasn't bothered by street noise. There's a good bathroom with a rainfall shower with good pressure (although the controls were a bit too involved for me to use early in the morning). Wifi connected easily and codes are given in the room. The only real issue with the hotel is that there's no lift and the stairs are quite steep and uneven so if you have mobility issues, I wouldn't recommend this. As a boutique hotel in an old building, there are also some quirks to the flooring, which I liked because it gave the room character but if you like everything new and perfect then it may be annoying. Location's great - walking distance to St Paul's and the Barbican and a short bus ride to the West End.

Great option for a family of 4
My family and I had a terrific stay. We arrived in London in the early morning and forgot to account for the fact that they would likely not be ready to accept us. When we arrived we knocked on the door of the pub (the rooms are managed by the pub) and they were kind enough to let us store our bags until check-in time. The rooms are very clean, a little tight (it is London after all), but comfortable. Wifi is strong and built in Neflix was a nice friend to have when recovering from jet lag. It was quite warm in London this year and the AC in one of our 2 rooms struggled to keep the room cool. The neighborhood is clean and certainly feels safe. Good places to eat nearby. The sound from the street was certainly noticeable, but not all that bad. It was about 15-20 pound cab ride from The Palace/Tower. In all we enjoyed our stay and would certainly go back again.

A quant, elegant gem that is close to everything.
This little hotel of 8 boutique rooms above a pub is the cutest place I've stayed in a long time. The room was spacious, and elegantly decorated with a huge bathroom that had heated towel racks :-)). The bed was super comfy with a nice white down comforter.. Double windows to keep the noise so out, so it was super quiet. Tons of complimentary snacks and tea everyday with a pleasant added surprise of an evening turn down service. The pub downstairs was very convenient and inviting. Lovely, friendly staff who are more than wiling to help you with places to go, etc. Close to restaurants, convenience stores. Perhaps the best perk was the market across the street that had tons of street vendors serving fresh food from all over the world for only 5 pounds a meal. No real lobby, so this is a place for well seasoned travelers that don't mind winging it on their own.

We are so glad that we spent our last few days in London here. What a cool hotel! The name says it all - this place is a very classy and efficient hotel, with a small amount of rooms that are connected to / just above an authentic and quiet London pub (very quiet - we didn't hear any noise all night). The rooms are located on the second floor, and are EXTREMELY well put together. Modern amenities are throughout the room and bathroom, but still with an authentic and historical feel. The rooms are very large, very classy, and very comfortable. If you are looking for a great room at a great price in a great part of London, and you do not need a fitness spa or lap pool or five-star restaurant in your hotel, then this place if for you! We are so glad we stayed here, and we will for sure be staying here again!

The staff are so kind and accommodating. They let us check in much earlier than normal, which was great for travelers just coming off a red-eye flight. When my son got sick the last day, they let us stay well past check-out time to let him rest longer. The rooms are clean, bright, and modern. The decor was whimsical. The location was awesome. We walked to Covent Garden a few times and the metro is a short 0.4 miles away. Across the street is Leather Lane, which has a large and vibrant street food scene daily for lunch and sometimes breakfast also. The pub was often very busy and loud, so when calling the ‘front desk’ it was a bit difficult to hear each other. But that’s minor and we could always just pop downstairs to the pub if needed. Overall the pub food was really good. The veggies were fresh and delicious. The fried dishes (e.g. tempura) were a bit heavy/oily, even for fried food, but again a minor point. Overall the place was great and the staff were awesome. Definitely recommend!
