Room had a nice outdoor space. But the room was beat up. Overhead shower never worked. You could never get food at the restaurant because there were "private events." This meant that the facilities were cut off to paying guests. Never re-filled the mini bar. The only bright spot was Ken at the front desk. Super friendly and helpful.

Long overdue for massive renovation
Just no. No, this is not a 4 star hotel and should not be rated as such. 3 star is pushing it. It’s got it’s cool factor in the lobby and the bar if you’re a twenty something that wants to party, but the rooms need a complete overhaul. Everything is worn and nothing works quite right. The paint on the ceiling of the shower is moldy and peeling off. The overhead shower only works sometimes and you have to pull so hard it feels like the fixture will come out of the wall. They charge a daily amenity fee and you allowed an allotment of items from the minibar each day. I don’t need this, but if you’re going to make it part of the charges then refill the thing so I can actually have the water I’m paying for. Unless you’re 20 and want to spend all your time at Mr Purple just don’t stay here. Even for Manhattan, where rooms are small and not the best, this is about 8 years overdue for an overhaul

Cool place. Could be better.
Nice room and enjoyed the balcony. However for a no smoking hotel the balcony was littered with discared cigarette's. I received a $20 credit for mini bar per day which was nice considering the $8 water. What was not nice was that they never filled it again so you basically lose the benefit if there is nothing in there that is left that you want. Coffee every morning at Mr Purple was $4+ which I do not mind paying. However the feature of the disintegrating rapidly cup it comes in kind of makes it not worth it. Awesome coffee shop right across street made up for it. Great view from the rooftop however and the hotel is great looking. Just those lil things will make me look elsewhere next time.

Great place to stay in lower Manhattan
Great hotel Great location in a fun part of NYC with great food and shopping nearby. Quite the party scene at the roof deck bar. We had a room a few floors away and weren’t bothered by the late night party noice. Would come back again.
