Clean, spacious, adorable and good location
The Dwellington is an excellent place to stay! The building is adorable, clean and the free breakfast is amazing. They have fresh eggs, fruit, bread and spreads for you to make up your own meal each morning. The bathrooms are clean and spacious with lots of room to get ready - they even have accessible bathrooms on the main floor and a movie theater room where they show different films at 8pm. The hostel is located near two embassies so the area is really safe and quiet. I highly recommend that you stay here if you're visiting Wellington!

This is a lovely and friendly hostel. I stayed for a total of 2 weeks in a mixed room. The location is great. Just slightly out of town, away from the hustle and bustle but still in walking distance to everything. Supermarket is just 2-3 minutes away. The hostel itself is very homely, clean and cosy. Lots of windows and natural light. The layout and space is excellent compared with other hostels. The staff were friendly and service was excellent. The free tea, coffee, hot chocolate and breakfast (which included eggs), was a big selling point for me. Along with the free towels to borrow, a nice, fully equipped kitchen and decent wifi connection. I particularly enjoyed the influx of new people on a day-to-day basis and met people from all over the world. I would definitely stay here again.

Very good
Great hostel. Very clean. Excellent bathrooms and kitchen facilities. Terrific staff. Easy to find from the motorway. Parking is a bit difficult but not much can be done about that there's just no more room. Only niggle - would have liked a desk or table in the room for laptop.

Good
Great for long term not short visits
The hostel was really nice itself and clean. The only problem was it’s too busy which I understand can’t be helped but you can’t even cook a meal without like 10 other people trying to cook theirs at the same time. The staff were fantastic and really friendly. It was a very noisy hostel and because a lot of the people were long term ‘residents’ they worked and were up and about banging doors / leaving for work at 6am. Another thing we noticed about there being so many long term residents and not many travellers was that you felt very excluded. Seemed sociable at night time and again quite loud up to about 11pm. Only one TV but it’s in a movie room which is excellent (apart from when long term residents don’t like what you’re watching and ask you to turn it over to what they want to watch). If you’re looking for a place to stay long term this is the hostel for you. If you’re looking for somewhere for a few weeks or less I wouldn’t recommend.

Really friendly staff, welcoming. Great location.
We felt welcomed and valued the minute we stepped in the door. Friendly staff. Nothing was too hard for them to do for us. The place just had a nice vibe, friendly and relaxed. Even as older travelers, with a mix of young people there, we didn't feel out of place. It wasn't noisy at night, but at the same time you could feel like you could have a quiet drink, and socialise but not get trashed like in some other hostels. It was homey being in a lovely old historic house. Lots of nooks and crannys and places to hang out.
