Beautiful resort & amazing stay
We had an amazing stay at Vilar Do Golf this week. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every moment of it. The grounds were beautiful with views of golf courses, and the restaurants and villas were all stunning around the roads inside the property. The pool was one of our favourite spots and we throughly enjoyed the inside pool too. It was a shame that the pool bar and snack bar wasn’t open but it was out of season but would have been good to have known this ahead of time. The rooms were comfy and the villas them selves were clean and spacious. The staff were warm and welcoming and gave us a private tour on a golf buggy when we arrived which was a really fun way to start of our experience. We also got to check in early which was greatly appreciated as it got us more time to explore. We also loved the cafe bar on site which looked over the golf course, the food and drinks were stunning. It was very quiet in general as it is out of season, would be interesting to see what it would be like with more of an atmosphere in the communal areas. Overall we had a lovely time staying here and would love to come back for future holidays and would recommend this serine and calming resort to friends and family.

Excellent accommodation at a great price
Excellent hotel on a well-maintained golfing estate. Indoor pool is heated so it is great for all year round use. Rooms very well equipped. Staff very friendly. Our only negative is the late check-in time but no other complaints.

Avoid booking at all costs
The worst experience in more than 20years of visiting this area in Portugal. Villa was very run down and mouldy and basically uninhabitable.

Perfect choice for families and groups in the Quinta do Lago area. The staff were really friendly & helpful. We loved all restaurants on site including the clubhouse when we needed a quick bite to eat. Amazing views over the fairways and walking distance to a number of Quinta’s popular spots.

Everything good except the Italian restaurant ILVero. Don’t buy the steak! Red blood on an overcooked piece of very thin rump that’s meant to be an medium rare eye fillet isn’t good (did they pour the blood onto it?) and the obsequious, yet clearly contemptuous manager bringing out another one, after you’ve eaten, isn’t really the make good anyone wants. The Asian restaurant BAO had exceptional wait staff. Overall food quality was not good for the price. Suggest eat elsewhere but the rest of the resort, although dated, was great for the price.

Interesting situation——property caters to younger people plus people that are mobile. Every time we needed to get somewhere, had to walk up to the front reception are to get a taxi or Uber…initially about 1000 yards …changed after we moved. Staff very friendly but very monochromic in their approach…not like resorts in US & Canada.
