This boutique hotel wasn’t our plan, but fortunately was just around the corner from the VRBO property we had booked and which turned out to not to be habitable because of some technical problems. The owners were very nice and very helpful to us during the four days we stayed there. The restaurant was excellent and the margarita they made was the best one I had in Mexico. From this location we were pleased to find eminently walkable streets and lots of dining and shopping options. It was quite close to the zoo as well (an amazing zoo, by the way).

If like me you vacation at a hotel for a nice room to sleep in but not to spend your whole time there and thus requiring a lot of amenities and luxury, then this place is quite nice. The kitchen and hotel staff are excellent, friendly and anxious to please. Food fantastic for a small hotel. Peaceful locale and walk to points of interest. The only improvement would be hot water instead of luke warm (but the Merida heat makes it tolerable) and better toilet flushing (both of which are not uncommon). Great value for the money. I spent 5 nights. Give them a try!

I wanted to write a scathing review of this place but my wife pointed out that there were only 3 things that were at fault. As expensive as it is to stay here the fact that it is Johannes’s policy to only offer each guest one generic pod of Nespresso for their entire stay is both stupid and unacceptable. Did you really save a lot of money by implementing this absurd policy? II. If you are going to serve a limited dinner service don’t you think you should have everything listed on the menu? III. The young man in the restaurant at night and at the front desk in the evening was the rudest person we met during our 2 week trek through the Yucatan. That’s all.

We stayed four nights in this beautifully designed 7 room boutique hotel in the historic district of Mérida. Our room was large and bright, with high ceilings, and had a very private terrace with table and chairs. The bathroom was large and had good lighting. There is a small restaurant and bar with a good variety of menu items and reasonable prices. Everything we ordered was delicious and presented beautifully. We enjoyed talking with the owner of the hotel, who is a wealth of information about Mérida and Mexico in general and provided lots of tips about the area. All the staff were very friendly and helpful; they booked a tour for us to Celestún which picked us up at the door. The hotel is a short walk from the main historic area of the city. We highly recommend this hotel!

This place made our stay in Merida the best ever! We had a room with a private patio that was superb. It was spacious, the cleanliness was unparalleled, the room had everything you could need-fresh towels and room service every day, tv, blanket, toiletries, coffee AND homemade complimentary cookies! The staff and owners are AMAZING! They will be sure you have the best experience. We had breakfast, dinner and drinks at the restaurant downstairs EVERY night and the food WILL NOT disappoint! OMG! Every meal was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! There is a pool, cooking classes, tequila tasting and a garden! It is truly an oasis in the city and I will definitely stay here again when I am in Merida. It would be a pleasure.

This property is a piece of paradise in the middle of Merida. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The towels were plush, plenty of fresh drinking water. Breakfast was EXCELLENT. The only negative comment I have is about the air conditioning in the room. When we checked in, the room was on fire. And the bathroom was like a sauna. It was 37 degrees Celsius outside and they had left the window open causing the room to heat up even more. We turned on the air conditioning but it took a long time to cool down the room. The bathroom does NOT have an air vent so it stays warm all day and all night. It has a ceiling fan but it is NOT enough. When we would leave during the day, the hotel would turn off our air. For the price we paid, I expected to have a cool room waiting for me, not a sauna. This was very frustrating.
