Good outweighs the bad
Let's start with the negatives. WiFi is only in the lobby. Shower and toilet location is inconvenient. Shower is only communal, and not on every floor. Toilet is only in your room, the communal shower doesn't have a wc. Now the positives. Price and location are great. 10 minutes to Central station. Easy to go anywhere in Berlin. Their breakfast is pretty good but I'd rather get my breakfast at the hbf (train station), where the shops are open 7 days a week till late. Would recommend the maatjes sandwich at Fish & Chips. There was also a kitchen. Beds are comfortable, especially since the rooms are rather empty even in August, when I stayed there. I got to sleep alone on one of the nights.

Hotel is okay. Close to station. No air conditioning or fans provided. Was too hot and couldn't sleep at night.

Great basic hostel
This hostel was very nice as hostels go. Very basic but it was clean, peaceful, and met our needs incredibly well. The only downside was that we couldn’t connect to the Wifi (wlan). Location was fabulous only 10 min walk from Berlin main station and reception stayed open late so we were able to check in after 11 pm. People were very friendly and room was in great condition and included a private bathroom which was a huge plus for such a low price. We would definitely stay there again.

Super friendly, upscale hostel by central station
Five minute walk from train station. It's a very nice youth hostel, so not a luxury hotel, but the buildings and rooms were new or updated, super friendly staff, and a fun environment (cafeteria, game room, etc.) Most rooms have single or bunk beds, good for families with kids or large groups. I liked it enough the first time to return and stay again, and if work or vacation brings me back to Berlin, I'd stay there again - especially if I bring the kids. Breakfast (cafeteria-style) was a great deal, too.
