Good 6.0
Great location with large, well-appointed rooms. After hours check in was terrible, and required me to shout my credit card number through an intercom on a busy street to allow the door to be unlocked. Cleanliness was an issue. There was washing powder all over the floor of the laundry area, and the grout between the bathroom tiles needed a good scrubbing.

Good 6.0
A very convenient location is perhaps the best way to describe this hotel. The foyer is tucked away at the end of a one way alcove on a busy street next to a Telstra building. If you drive into the alcove you need to have a spotter so you can reverse out onto one of the busiest streets in Hobart. Even though the hotel says there is ample off street parking the popularity of the nearby Salamanca Markets means that all the car parks are gone so you have to troop through the streets with your bags and possessions. The room can only be described as interesting. There were three parts to the room. On opening the door you walked into a long corridor with a bathroom to the right, then the double bed in the next part and then the sitting lounge area. There is NO ventilation in the bedroom and the AC is in the lounge area. The windows do not open, and when you open the blind you are confronted with a view of the roof of the building next door, the Telstra radio mast and the AC units on the roof. The glare from the roof and the lack of any vista of Hobart was very disappointing. The bedroom was airless at night. The AC needed to be on cold and the fan on high to get any ventilation into the room. Turning the AC off meant that the room quickly got stuffy. One saving grace was that the bathroom was clean and the water in the shower was hot.

Poor 2.0
a very disappointed experience
Need to pay for daily cleaning service - It is not stated in Expedia. I complaint about this with the Hotel Manager by their hotline and she wrote me email to ensure that daily cleaning service will be provided for the rest of my stay, however, they did not manage to keep their promise and only gave me one more day of cleaning services instead of two. When we call them again, they just told me that the cleaner is off, no one can help. The services are not efficient - The working hour of the reception counter is way too short that it causes a lot of inconvenience for us, like we cannot ask for help to fix our shower head when we went back to the hotel at late afternoon, and no one can help fixing or change another kettle for our broken one. Every problem can only be addressed on next day, it is terrible to a tourist with 3-4 day holidays in Hobart. While we are paying AUD 420 per night for three nights. The services are not up to standard, but the amount of money they charged us equals to the amount of fee we pay for four or five star hotel, even WIFI is charged which I found really unacceptable.

Perfect location
Spent three nights in a one bedroom apartment on the 5th floor. Spacious and comfortable for three people. It has open plan living with no door on the "bedroom" Two king singles "zipped" together which is not ideal, but the bed was comfortable none the less. Sofa bed also rated as comfortable, but son complained that the pillow was too thin. Lovely living area, very small kitchenette. We did not cook, as the Taste Festival was too tempting, however if we did there were only two dinner plates, two forks, and four or three of everything else. We appreciated the washer/dryer which was easy to use. The bathroom however appeared to be mid renovation with no where to hang towels to dry ( and there is no servicing of your room if you stay less than 7 nights. There was also a not so pleasant "scent" from the drain in the bathroom. Overall a comfortable stay - however I would think at over $600 per night that access to WIFI could have been "thrown in"

Exceptional 10.0
It used to be a Telephone exchange and it’s been converted to apartments. The elevator has an Antique feeling to it. Ceilings are really high and it feels very spacious because of this. It’s located on the corner of two very busy roads. The windows are double glazed so most of the traffic noise is blocked out but the windows cannot be opened. Parking is very limited here and if you have a car you need to prebook space. Getting in and out is a real challenge as space is so limited for turning. Reception hours are a bit disappointing. E.g. opening time is 9am on Saturday. Staff were always friendly and helpful to me and my wife. Location is pretty convienient. A pleasant walk through the park (in the daytime) down to the wharf and to the bars and restaurants. Overall I was happy to stay here and recommmend it.
