This is a really nice place hidden in downtown Hilo. It's an old building so of course electricity isn't great but they do have outlets on the outside of the rooms. The hotel is run through work exchange program so you can tell that the owners are not present. For the most part the young girls are just fine but they do not start on time there is not always someone at the window and often they don't take out the garbage. I was here for a week so I saw a lot. I think management needs to do a little bit more to keep their young employees on their toes and not let them get lazy.

Rough and uncomfortable. One and done.
Needed last minute accommodations. Meh, bathroom entry is under standard door height and NO DOOR; all wood frame. No problem if by yourself in room with no tv and under 6 ft. Otherwise you will hit your head. Noisy. Was a four night stay, left after the first night. Was promised a refund. They only refunded half. Breakfast included? Fruit and bread. Good luck.

Great find in the heart of Hilo
We needed a last-minute stay in Hilo on a family trip and Wild Ginger was available. I loved the old Hawaii feel. This was a welcome break retreat with the Coqui frogs at night surrounded by fruit trees. Breakfast in the morning was a nice surprise with fresh Musibis!
