    An expensive hotel but well worth the experience of having a room with a view over London. Room super clean and comfortable and there’s even a pool for a swim on the 53rd floor.

    An indulgent treat --- just for me.

    If you are going to do something -- do it in style. Well I certainly did. The exceptional service starts from as soon as you arrive. The doormans greeting, concierge and receptionist to name just a few. Room spacious with all modcoms and superb views. Breakfast service impeccable. Waiter from the previous day came over to make sure I was being well attended to, he remembered me. A small point but much appreciated in this busy world. I shall not hesitate to return. Thank you all.

    The service was very slow. It was my 50th birthday celebration and it was a bit stressful. We didn’t get the key to our room until 5.45. We tried checking in at 3.45 as we had a table booking at Aqua Shard at 6.15. It was quite stressful and on a very hot day it would have been nice to freshen up before dinner but this wasn’t possible. It also took 40 mins for our drinks to arrive in Ting bar.

    Dirty glass

    Check in wasn’t till 4pm but luckily we managed to get the room after 2pm. The lady was very kind and helpful. There was a lipstick stain on one of that glass tumblers. I waited 20mins for a replacement. Lipstick stains are disgusting at any time but during COVID, much worse. Once the glass arrived we were preparing to use the pool. The safe wasn’t working. Waited another 20mins. The gentleman who came was great and managed to fix it. Excited to use the pool but it was tiny. There were around 6 children in the pool who continued to splash around and no one stopped them or reminded them of other guests around. The windows looking out to the city were filthy. Could hardly see the view. I was shocked at the check in time, 4pm and Check out time 11am. For a hotel that charges around £500 a night, it’s shame that you don’t get much time to make use of their facilities. At night time, we moved one of the swivel chairs (to get the perfect photo with the amazing view) and there on the floor were crisps crumbs (we didn’t eat any crisps). Clearly left by precious guests. I was disgusted to say the least by the clear lack of hygiene and care in the room. Would not recommend anyone to stay here unless they offer it at a much cheaper price. Will not be returning. I would like a response from one of your team to explain the shocking hygiene standards found at your hotel.

    Great little minibreak

    You cant beat the views of the hotel, nor the service. However even though it is a 5* establishment and I can imagine some customers are very particular, I would have expected a bit more eco-friendly approach. Single use plastic, tiny bottles of shampoo/gels/creams, changing the towels (after being in the room for 3h), having the bathroom underfloor heating on for 24/7, etc etc should be unacceptable in this day and age?!? If to critizise anything else, then the expectations for the food were a lot higher for us (room service and breakfast), however it is understandable that there will be some recovery time after the year the hospitality industry has had. Overall we would definitely return as an alternative to overseas holidays - staying in London has never been as relaxing (until the normal tourism returns) as it is now - crab the opportunity!
