Gorgeous Granbell
Great hotel, just on the edge of frenetic Kabukicho. Not too far from a metro or JR station, plenty of options for food and entertainment close by. Rooms are new and clean, staff are very helpful. Highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Shinjuku.

Amazing over all, only complaint is the comfort of the bed, the pillows and mattress are really hard other then that the hotel is great, super clean, helpful staff and great location

Staff weren't as friendly or polite as we'd become used to in Japan. The room was clean and in-service cleanliness was very good - but it was very small - but it was an economy room. The surrounding area is a 'red light' district - a bit dirty - but quite safe.

3-night stay
Stayed 3 nights, our first in Japan. Newer hotel. Service was fantastic. About 800m from Shinjuku san-chome railway station and 1km from main Shinjuku station where you can catch the bus or train to Narita airport. Also very close (5-10) min walk to the Golden Gai area which is not to be missed. Outside terrace on the 13th floor was lovely for a few drinks. While it was a warmish night gas heaters and blankets were supplied. Only downside is no wardrobe but friends stayed in another hotel also without wardrobe so not sure if this is a Japanese thing or not.
