Good location over looking the beach and close to all the main areas within the island. The expensive room we booked had a view of a construction site and not the view of the ocean and blue waters we were promised. After complaining we were moved to a smaller/cheaper room. No refund was given on the difference but 2 spa vouchers were. The spa was not good would have rather preferred a refund. The amenities and free water equipment is old (i.e., the kayak is not a kayak but a small boat, snorkeling equipment does not fit due to use and abuse). Bar waiters at most times are too busy distracted by girls in bikinis to get your order right.

Paradise with a caring staff
Not only is Gili Meno the symbol of paradise and quietness, this unique place tops the experience with nature-like high quality. Never have we encountered such an engaged staff, invested at the individual level in making the guests smile.

I found the front desk staff at times lacked attention to detail and not of a standard of such an expensive resort. Having said that the other staff were brilliant. Very friendly and accommodating. The exact opposite of the front desk. Building works were ongoing, which meant hanging out at the villa wasnt really an option. Not exactly peaceful. One of the bathrooms also smelt really bad. The resort was a little cut off and food and drinks as expected were very pricey. Food wasn’t always at a high standard. Our holiday was ok, however due to the issues above it wasn’t worth the money and I wouldn’t go back,

Its nott the best place to stay
I guess it was much better place to stay before authorities storm the beach and ripped down private structures. We didnt expect to see construction works around. At least around this hotel. No privacy-people are walking around your tent, stuff are super fast or extremely slow, food -it depends. Overprised place, check the places that are much cheaper. In reality, they look beautiful and nice.

Location location
Lovely location and friendly staff. However when we arrived we were told our room wasn't available and were transferred to another hotel which was more superior by far - very happy with that.

A decent hotel, but not top quality for the island
We stayed in one of the two story bungalows at Karma Reef. There is a public small road/footpath that goes between the bungalows and the beach. So right in front of and next to our room was the road that had people making noise and horse cars (with bells!) going by, so not very peaceful. There was also unfortunately very loud house/techno music blasting until 2am from the neighborhood. While the hotel perhaps can't control the neighboring music, they should offer earplugs or something to alleviate the inconvenience. However, from 2am-6am the quiet sound of waves crashing was bliss. We found all the staff to be very helpful, ready with a smile and a helping hand. The food was good though pricey for the area. Breakfast included and delivered to your room is a dream. The hotel should provide fans for the bottom floor of the bungalows as it was quite hot and no way to escape without going upstairs to the bedroom.

Best Hotel on this side of the Island
Awesome hotel that appeared to be on par if not the best hotel on Gili Meno. And in any case it is on the sheltered side of the island near the best beaches (the west side is the windward side and has a coral/shell beach rather then the eastern/southern sides which has the fine white sandy beaches) Staff there are awesome, friendly and the manager Manuel gives a great introduction and description of everything to do on the Island when you first arrive. Also this place would have some of the best food on the Island (Manuel will point out all the other restaurants which won't give you food poisoning). Only thing is that its probably a little bit more expensive then most other places, but with meals being $18-25 AUD then they are a bargain compared to what you would pay in your home town. NOTE - Make sure to contact ahead of time to sort out transport if you are flying into Denpasar. Certain times of the day public ferries have limited operating hours, and flying to Lombok and organising transport from there (will cost $120 AUD for the hotel to send a private boat/car taking 2 hours total) might be a better option then missing the public ferry If your flight arrives after midday

Beautiful hotel with outstanding customer service
Karma Reef was the highlight of our week off travelling Singapore, Bali and finally arriving in paradise at the Gili Islands. I could not rate this hotel highly enough and the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and super helpful. They gave us a map when we first arrived which highlights the areas of where to snorkel, dive and explore. We also ate at the hotel and the restaurant's choice of food was excellent - I highly recommend their fresh lobster! Rooms on the beach were an absolute delight and I woke up to the most incredible sunrise I've ever seen. Loved every second!

Paradise beach bungalows - loved it here
I booked here for a three night birthday treat on my travels. It is the nicest set of beach bungalows on the islands. I am so happy with my stay. Staff are all so happy and helpful, the manager goes the extra mile to ensure you are enjoying your stay. The bungalows are in my opinion a perfect size and the decor is lovely. I was very comfortable here. The view from both my bedroom balcony and lounge was that of the crystal clear waters, gili air and lomboks mountains in the distance- it is rather dreamy! The breakfast is really good here and having eaten several meals all of their food is top quality. Yes the food is expensive but it's an island and a nice resort so you should expect this. If I had more budget I would stay here much longer, but alas I have to move on. I would recommend here in the bungalows (didn't fancy the tents much) whole heartedly. I had a wonderful relax and unwind time here... I hope that you do too.

Honeymoon stay
My husband and I stayed 2 nights in one of their beach huts and were disappointed. While the hut is clean and quaint it was right in the harbor so there was a lot of traffic right outside and locals sitting there all day. The AC also hardly worked in the accommodations so we were uncomfortable all night as there was no airflow. I will say the restaurant at the hotel was very good. Staff at the desk was nice but inexperienced. Overall for the cost compared to others on the island I'm not sure it was worth the $

focus on why you booked this property and island
my first impressions of this island and resort were not what I expected . Having to take own luggage off the launch into the water and negotiate the so called steps up to beach was not the best start. There was no greeting to the island and was guesswork on what to do or where the reception was. The island has alot of growing up to do but I also need to remind myself that is one of the reasons I booked it in the first place. The bungalow has a sense of romance about it and took a bit to get used to the layout and to relax. The bedroom is upstairs and the bathroom downstairs with the living area downstairs and open/unsecured. The beach area is terrible (I understand that their beach area is under a programme to fix but it seems to be a long process) and we spent most of our time outside of the Malalia bungalows as they fixed up the beach area every morning - the accommodation at Malalia is also a third of the price of the Karma . I think the Karma is overrating itself in comparison to what is available on the island. There was a party hosted at this resort however it only went to midnight and didn't cause much of a disturbance. our holiday was in a quiet season and not alot of tourists about - compared to other Bali destinations ,my daughter and i had an overall distinct feeling of not being entirely welcome - a little like only just being tolerated. The staff at the Karma and Malalia were always pleasant and helpful and the more we had contact the friendlier they became
