A lovely hotel with well trained restaurant staff. The food was excellent. Our room was clean and spacious with a very powerful shower over the large bath. The grounds were beautifully kept. A most enjoyable short break.

Food absolutely excellent, both dinner and breakfast, Could do with pool and gym opening earlier/later and some of the staff are a tad brusque which could be interpreted as rude.

Lovely room, beautiful, well maintained gardens and the maze was fun! Spa was quiet and relaxing on Saturday morning. Excellent evening meal in the restaurant, breakfast was really nice but not outstanding. Would have liked to have robes in the room, or at least have been offered them on check-in. Also a full length mirror in the room would be useful.

Very relaxing atmosphere, great breakfast menue well cooked & available early until 10am, we didn't use the extensive spar facilities but our standard double room was comfortable, spacious with views overlooking the manicured garden great value.

Reception team were very friendly and welcoming. Delicious breakfast but breakfast staff not very welcoming, need to smile occasionally! Overall an ok stay but don’t think we’d stay again
Verified review

8/10 Very good

The room was dusty, staircase leading to the pool had cobwebs and many dead insects on them. The shower in the pool area used after swimming was mouldy along the bottom of the shower tray at the front. The food in the restaurant was very good, however it would be of benefit to customers who want to book the restaurant if the hotel explained before booking that you can choose food from both of the available menus.

Breakfast food good. Room OK but needed a clean especially the windows. Staff OK but a bit slow over breakfast The route to the Spa wS down some very steep stone narrow steps. Didn't make it to the spa as was concerned for my safety down the steps. Overall very expensive

Brilliant hotel in beautiful surroundings. The whole area just feels lovely. Outside you had the maze and mature gardens with lots of areas to sit and relax. It was very peaceful and calm and very pretty. Inside there were lovely nooks and crannies to sit and chill from the library to an elegant lounge and the bar area. We had a nosy into the gym and pool area although didn't use them and they looked great too. Our room was spotlessly clean as was the whole hotel and eating areas. Our room was very comfortable with a lovely bathroom which was well equipped with fluffy towels and spa body wash and shampoo. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and the food we had was tasty. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel as we were out and about but it did look lovely. All the staff were very friendly and cheery and a credit to your hotel. I would 100% recommend this hotel and we hope to visit again sometime.
