Good size room for 3 nights, nice bathroom
Got in late, after reception closed. Several little cottages, round large parking area. Was sent map but not room number? Temporary breakfast room (due to reno), 1st 2 mornings. 3rd morning, it was locked & we had to go searching. Breakfast room had tourist brochures & info but too late on our last day. Not a fan of continental breakfasts, everything was sweet! Didn't like the muffins, coffee or OJ, & breads were dry. Ate almost nothing. One staff person at breakfast, nice if you asked a question, but sitting at computer the whole time. No idea if reception was open on weekends or not? Stay was for dance comp, really needed hand soap 1st morning, doing hair & make up, but container was empty. Only asked for room to be made up to get bin emptied & toiletries replaced. Several toiletries ran out and were not replaced. Sign said "save water" hang towels if happy to reuse . Hung them but they got replaced anyway. Only one towel when you need to wash long hair is unpleasant. Good view of laundry being done in garage facing car park with garage door open. Gas truck came at 6:50 Mon morning, very noisy. Lots of church bells quite early, but not unpleasant. Found electric blanket on the last night.

Its the little things that matter
I stayed at Fiona's on 24 Feb 2017 while on a work trip. After a long day at work, I am not looking for too much in my accommodation. A clean room, comfortable bed, tv and a cold beer. Fiona's has a good location, close to the fringe of Launceston's CBD and a number of meal options for dinner. The room was spacious, clean and the bed comfortable. But from there it was downhill for me. There was no soap in the bathroom and as it was after 5.00 pm, no one available to provide any. I wanted to turn on the tv, the batteries in the remote were flat. I wanted a cold beer, the cheap opener provided in the room didn't fit a bottle cap and finally I wanted my bedside lamp on and the globe was blown. On top of this my unit, Unit 1 had an illuminated sign outside the window which remained on all night completely lighting my room. There were no blackout curtains to prevent this. Yes these apart from the lack of soap, are all first world problems but they are all things that shouldn't happen. Fiona's 4 star? I don't think so.

Nice place to stay
Stayed here for 2 nights. Was a nice clean place to stay, central to town and fairly quiet (walls are thin so you could hear other guests). The included continental breakfast is great value and more than enough food. Melissa was excellent, I checked in late so she rang to let me know that reception was closing and texted through all my check in details plus an after hours number if needed. She also organised some breakfast in my room on the 2nd morning as I was leaving before breakfast started. . Wifi worked well and as a lady traveling on her own I felt safe and secure. Would stay here again if ever in Launceston

Lovely comfortable stay
I was lucky to get my favourite room at Fiona's at the busiest time of year in Launceston. I love The Loft - it has a separate entrance (though note there are stairs to the room) and is a good size, with plenty of storage. The room has a lovely view though the sloping ceilings may not suit tall people. Also, as it is above the reception/breakfast area, there are no neighbours and the room is very peaceful. All mod cons, fridge, tea and coffee, and the wifi works really well. Breakfast room is nice with plenty of choice.
