Firstly, the staff of this hotel were excellent and very helpful. Other than that this is one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had - and this was all because this hotel has no air conditioning. We were staying in a heatwave and the room was 40 degrees C which is dangerous considering we had children with us. The hotel said it is because of new building regulations, the problem is that the shopping mall nearby had no aircon but they worked out creative ways of ventilation. The Odalys designers had not bothered to factor ventilation to the hotel design and their solution was fans - cheap free standing ones. The hotel should be really clear in their booking information that they do not have air conditioning - so many of the guests we came across were also complaining about this - it was obviously an unpleasant surprise for all of us.

No A/C at this hotel
I do realize this is an oversight on my part but I honestly stopped checking whether the room I am looking to book has air conditioning years ago. Who doesn't have A/C at this day and age? Well, lesson learned. I will now look at that a little more closely. It was upon arrival, when we were given a little info sheet about parking, wi-fi etc, that I saw the notice that the building is a low energy property and has no air conditioning. It says to keep the rolling blinds shut when not in the room to help keep the room cool. I am sorry but that did nothing. There is a thermometer in the room and it was constantly 30+. You can imagine how uncomfortable it is to sleep in those conditions. It's really too bad as everything else about this hotel is great - large room with kitchen and living area, huge bathroom with a bathtub, underground parking, indoor pool, laundry facilities etc. I guess if you're staying here at winter time you'll be fine but otherwise beware.

Fine if it’s not above 20 degrees outside....
There was no air conditioning - in Lyon, where it was very hot. Plus, it did not appear that there was no attempt in the building to reduce the amount of sun for our room. No awnings for example. It was 30 degrees inside the room for most of our stay despite the portable fans being on the entire time. I. understand being “green”, but then there must be measures taken to protect the room from the elements. The pool was also out of order. That being said the reception was very nice, it was in a nice leafy area and was a 20 min walk to Place Bellecour.

We went as family of 4 between 28.12 and 30.12.2018. The hotel room was clean, with a big bathroom. The hotel room was rather small for 4 people, only manageable with a fair amount of goodwill. The rail tracks are situated next to the hotel, but they were no problem because there are very few trains passing by and they run slowly and rather quietly. the water supply was rather low pressure, but still enough to take a shower. The kitchenette is serviceable for small dinners. The breakfast (paid extra) has a limited amount of selection, but fresh. Toilets are an issue in this hotel. There are none at the reception. There are 2 toilets near the breakfast area, accessible after entering a code at the outside door. We only found out about these at departure time. When I went to the reception previously, they advised me at the reception to use the toilet within our hotel room We also ran out of toilet paper in our hotel room.

Highly priced for what it offers
This apart-hotel is situated on an area near Lyon Perrache with easy access to tram and metro. It has 24 hour reception, beware though, we are talking about small appartments here. There is breakfast available at an extra cost, which is average. My main issue with this apart-hotel was the extremely high price (>200 euros) per night, which was not justified at all, even if it was during the period of Pollutec. I don't think it really deserves more than 60-70 euros maximum. Especially since it was not cleaned well during the check-in, and that furniture has clear signs of wear. All in all, recommended for short stays and only if you can find it at a logical price.
