We weren’t able to check in until 1100am, considering we arrived at 7.20. Ok, there was a full house, but really nowhere to freshen up. The breakfast was there for us, as we were leaving early the next day so we swapped the days and enjoyed a coffee and toast to pass the time. Well, didn’t feel welcome, sorry reception. W The room was small, but didn’t bother us, but the cold air con did, and didn’t sleep well because of the cold air. No extra blankets in the room or at all, a d the tissues were non existent. Amazing when it takes the cleaners so long to clean these rooms, and not efficiently I might add. Sorry for the wings, but there are others we will stay at in the future. Maybe we have been spoilt previously, but I think you need to do a overhaul.

    Conveniently located for transport
I stayed at Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay for 3 nights with my mum. We had a double room facing the courtyard. 1. Location - this hotel was conveniently located to transport. It was about a 10 minute walk to Clarke Quay Station and Chinatown Station. Also close to buses. Taxis were easy to find and cost around SGD63 from Changi and (surprisingly) only SGD35 from hotel to Changi. 2. Staff - staff were efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. We arrived at the hotel after 2am on a Saturday morning and we were greeted with smiles and a quick check in. 3. Room - room was comfortable and large enough for 2 people to move around in without feeling crowded. The room looked recently renovated. The bathroom came equipped with body wash/shampoo, hand soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower cap etc. Be aware that there is no conditioner provided so you'll want to bring your own. One minor issue was a red light outside the window which would shine through the blind. Annoying but not a deal breaker. You might want to bring an eye mask. 4. Free breakfast - every morning we got free breakfast in the dining area into the lobby. It was a decent spread and from memory there was a good mix of western foods like pastries, bread and spreads, pancakes, eggs, sausages, oatmeal, yoghurt and fruit, and Asian foods like congee, steamed buns/ mantou, noodles etc. We only had a minor hiccup with our room. On the second night our room key stopped working and we had to get it replaced.

    Exceptional 10.0
Very comfortable facilities and a great breakfast.
This was a perfect hotel for me. The bed was very comfortable with nice pillows. I may have found the room small if there was another person there and we didn't go out much. Bathroom small but nice, shower had a rain shower and hand wash head. Heaps of drinking water provided daily in 500ml bottles which were easy to refill at the filter tap in the breakfast area. Close to a good bus stop with buses to Orchard Rd, Dhoby Ghaut, Little India and Harbourfront, and 10 mins walk to Clarke Quay or Chinatown MRT. I took advantage of the Ofo (etc) share bikes to cut this time down. The pool is lovely - not too many lounge chairs but I never had trouble getting one. Breakfast is great, with plenty of food and choice. DIY laundry is very expensive - $8 wash and $8 dry. But good facilities to do so. On the last day I had a late flight - later checkouts are available for a fee depending on the time. I checked out at the normal time (12) but was able to store my luggage and have a shower at the rooftop gym facility before I went to the airport. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

    Would stay again
Location good but would have been better to be closer to Clarke Quay MRT. Rooms small and make sure to ask for one with curtains, not blinds. Very minimal hanging space for clothes so ok for a couple of days but as we stayed for ten days we were living out of our cases. Breakfast adequate and enough variety. Staff both in reception and girls doing our room always cheerful and helpful. A drawback to comfort is the open walls near rooms so hot and humid when you exit room - strange design.

Good place, wonderful people, great staycation!
It was our first staycation as a family since after the birth of my baby. I booked this hotel because of its star ratings on & the location. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in CBD & city area yet have a great resting place with free breakfast. Their breakfast served a whole lot of good selections (porridge, toasted bread with different jams etc, baked beans, scrambled eggs, curry, quinoa rice, sausages, vegetables, local noodles (fried bee hoon), chicken, mutton etc, especially the pastries were really good. The water pressure in bathroom in Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay is really the BEST I have ever had throughout my experiences with other accommodations. The rainshower is also very nice & soothing coz the pressure was sufficient too. Full amenities, toiletries, an electric kettle and a safe (locker) were also provided. There's also an in-room complimentary ironing board for business users and tourists who want to use it. Daily replenishment of tea (dilmah) & coffee (decaf) is provided. A 40-m length pool is located on the rooftop, nice sceneries and ambience around. Free wifi is all around the hotel, the connection is strong & stable. 14 TV channels including soccer/football ones were in the package as well. We had a wonderful stay because the concierge staffs were extremely professional, courteous & helpful. Even the chambermaids were nice too. Will stay here again if price remains affordable. Highly recommended. Thumbs up!
