Luckily only a short stay
We were told we were given a double bed (turns out only a twin bed). We only found out when we stayed at another APA hotel during our trip at another location. The room with two twin beds was equivalent to the size of the “double bed”. Had asked concierge to help us call and book a restaurant. He supposedly made the reservation, but when we got to the restaurant, they said there is no reservation. Upon checking out, the hotel staff also refused to help make reservation ro upcoming night (as we are not hotel guests there that night). They also couldn’t help me translate. Never had such unhelpful Japanese staff in my years of travelling to japan

Exceptional 10.0
Husband and I had a great 8 night stay at APA Ginza-Kyobashi! Conveniently located between two train stations (one running along the Ginza line and the other alone the Asakusa line), several convenience stores and away from the hustle and bustle of Ginza proper. Very quiet but never too far to get anywhere. The breakfast at the downstairs tavern was great, but Westerners bear in mind that it is a traditional Japanese breakfast - so fish, soy, rice etc. There is no western food except french fries - but you're in Japan, so why would you want western food anyway! Staff helpful but we didn't need to bother them too much. The rooms are small (as expected in Japan, they make the most of a small space) but not too small for the two of us. Great amenities in room, however find that replacing the plastic toothbrushes provided every day is a bit much and not environmentally minded, considering how much care the Japanese people take with recycling. Try the Japanese pillows provided! They were actually great and I felt less neck pain than I usually do at home - however western pillows can be provided if you ask at Reception. My only criticism is the lack of climate control in the rooms, and the fact that it is not noted anywhere. There is a control for the in-room air-conditioning unit on the wall however you can't change the temperature - we woke up on the first night sweating buckets because the heater was blasting even though we had set the unit to 18 degrees. Overall though, 9/10!

5 blocks from Tokyo Station
I stayed here twice during a trip to Japan (arrival evening and night before departure). the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, but for a Westerner the rooms are quite small. No closet, had to put overnight bag on desk to open it up, though there is a luggage stand in the hall. using that blocks the doorway. The room is probably no more than 8' by 12-14', including a compact bathroom. Small as it was, it was larger than the bathroom at a sister hotel in the town of Koriyama where I also stayed. The real downside is the breakfast: No eggs, out of toast when I was there, and a largely Asian style breakfast geared for obvious reasons to Japanese guests, not Americans visitors. There is a nice restaurant just to the left of the hotel for dinner with many of the typical affordable dishes, and you can spend far more if you are inclined. It is also convenient to the Kyobashi subway station. the walk to Tokyo Station is perhaps 10-12 minutes to the south entrance. If you are traveling as a couple, get a larger room.

Very good 8.0
Very Compact
Arrived at 12 noon but could not check in till 3pm - disappointing. Got to the room and was surprised - soooo tiny - everything is mini - bed was small, bathroom was very compact - can't say anything was lacking (well maybe milk for tea/coffee) but not much room to swing a cat and keeping luggage was an exercise in maximising the space you had! the pillows also are non existent - soooo flat you may as well have none! The room was either very stuffy or very cold if you turned on the air con - and you can't open the window so this was a bit of an issue. The staff were nice and very helpful with anything we need with regards to directions. Very helpful when trying to get to the airport especially....... Hotel very close to Ginza high end shopping but everything else was a bit far - especially all the attractions and the hop on hop off buses - and taxis are rather expensive!

Short visit to Tokyo
I am Japanese so I am used to a small hotel room. The room was tiny but had a bed, TV in front of the bed, side desk + chair and a mirror. The bathroom was very easy to use. It was enough for 1 night stay in Tokyo. The room would fit a small carry on baggage but probably would not fit a large luggage. The room was clean, and simple. Free WiFi was provided as well and easy to connect. The only thing I could wish for was more amenities for ladies (e.g. skin lotion and moisturizer). The breakfast buffet was Japanese style and comfort food. I had a nice stay. This is not a luxury hotel but I would use it again as it is affordable and located near Tokyo/Kyobashi station.
