Great little hotel with lots of charm.
Loved this place. Beautiful place, rooms are huge, staff is great. Location is great also, 2 blocks from the funicular (cable car) up San Cristobal Hill to the Virgin Mary monument. We were upgraded to a great room on the top floor; only issue was the stairs to get up there as their is no elevator. Breakfast was great, as was the wine happy hour each afternoon. Plus, we loved Santiago. Great city to visit. Also, get Willy from www.chiletourfun.com to take you for a personalized tour of the city. He was fantastic, well worth the price; 5 hour tour to everywhere in the city. Very good English, too.

Convenient Location and Friendly Staff
Convenient location close to many restaurants within walking distance. Friendly staff who offered help to carry our luggage to the third floor. Secure building with video doorbell and lock on the front gate. Young people dancing in the park near the front gate was a pleasant surprise in the evenings.

An excellent place to stay especially if it’s your first visit to Santiago. The staff were very helpful with having a shuttle arranged to and from the airport, making recommendations for places to eat or see, and was within walking distance of a lot of attractions like the Pablo Neruda Museum, the Metropolitan Park, and from downtown. The room was extremely comfortable too, was really sad our stay was only for a couple days. We will return to Santiago to see more and stay here again!

The Castillo Rojo is a very nice property. Staff is efficient and friendly. Considerations for guests, there is no elevator and rooms are at least one if not two flights upstairs. Also, the hotel policy is to lock its front gates at all times, so entering and leaving requires staff assistance each time.

This hotel is great. Here is what stood out: 1. Rooms are very comfy with nice, hot showers 2. Breakfast is included and it is a fresh, hot breakfast rather than a generic buffet 3. The neighborhood is popping with all kinds of things to do in the immediate area 4. The service was really friendly, the clerks were helpful and went out of their way to book activities (massage, mani-pedi, airport transfer) for me 5. The building is super safe. They require you to buzz in and someone comes out and locks the gate each time. This is great because it is located in a small public square And for bonus points, since I am a Hotels.Com VIP, they gave me a free bottle of champagne on ice!
