Just love The Alexander!
We had the most wonderful time at The Alexander. We stayed 3 and a half weeks in total - we had two bookings because we decided to stay in Indianapolis longer than intended. Our stay was lovely and we are looking forward to revisiting for our daughters graduation in May.

A+ hotel and visit!
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! Lynsey at the front desk was stellar.. She was very helpful in making sure that our room exceeded our expectations. She also provided us a late checkout to better meet our schedule for the next day. This hotel has a great location. It's an quick Uber ride to Mass Ave or Fountain Square for amazing food and a cool bar scene. Colts and Pacers are an easy stroll down the street. This hotel comes highly suggested.

Mixed Feelings
I am of two minds about the Alexander. On the positive side, the physical layout/appearance of the hotel is great. The lobby area is bright and welcoming. Even the bar area was never loud. Although the IMMEDIATE surrounding environment is a bit of an eyesore (i.e., grungy parking lot across the street), there are many terrific amenities withing walking distance: A beautiful YMCA, the culture trail, the Fountain Square neighborhood with some cool restaurants, coffee houses. In addition, the restaurants connected to the hotel (Cerulean, Market Table, Yolk) were top notch. The downside of the hotel revolved around the room itself. Ours was listless. A blank, drab wall occupied most of the area. We were first booked into a room right next to housekeeping and whose window looked right into the parking garage. When I asked to change it, the person at the desk moved us to a room in the exact same location except one flight up. When we changed a third time, we were put right next to the elevator. Our two nights were almost totally sleepless. Vehicle noise from outside, trains running through the night, and extremely loud guests (in town for a High School wrestling tournament) who screamed and slammed doors all night (not the fault of the hotel, I suppose). And we were charged for a $30 bottle of wine we didn't purchase. I WOULD recommend staying at the Alexander, but be VERY VERY cautious about the location of the room and avoid a time when there are special events in Indianapolis.

Awesome stay!
The hotel was extremely well decorated and artistic. The night life is in walking distance and everyone at the hotel was extremely accommodating.

Very dissapointing
Hooskeeping tried to walk in my room at 7am. I called the front desk, and they told me housekeeping didnt start until 8:30. So we didnt sleep at all.We werent sure if someone tried to break in our room. Very disappointing and ruined our whole day. We got about 4 hourse of sleep. The manager did give us a discount but I dont feel it was sufficient. I will never go back unless I get a free night with no misshaps.
