Lovely place - shame about the snooping!

This was a beautiful spacious room in a good location, nice and quiet. The breakfast was lovely but the lady owner swore unnecessarily in her story telling and took up too much time. A 10 minute lie down after breakfast would have been nice and she knew what time we had to leave so allow guests to use this time instead of feeling like we need a long conversation. You gauge people first before swearing and as we hadn't done so, we found this odd for a host. The strangest thing we have never experienced before in a B&B is the lady went up to our room after the 1st night stay, while we were at breakfast (without mentioning it). She had taken away our cups from an earlier cup of tea and washed it but if we wanted another cup of tea, we could have rinsed them in the sink ourselves. It just felt intrusive as a room check/clean can be done once guests go out for the day. She then knocked on after we returned to the room to give the cup back and ask where our rubbish was, as we had said we were having a take away the night before after arriving late. We are very respectful and had cleaned it all away and tied rubbish in bags - so much so she hadn't seen it or smelt it so that should have just been left at that. 2nd morning, the morning we were checking out. The same happened - while at breakfast, she went up and took the cup again. Nothing else had been done and we were about to leave so why hand back a rinsed cup. Anyone we have told about this found it equally bizarre!!

    Lovely place to stay

Lovely clean, comfortable, spacious room with view of the estuary. Within easy drive of the South lakes. Stayed for 2 nights but would recommend for longer as the rooms are a good size to relax in between trips and you are made to feel at home.

This is a fab place for a great, inexpensive, break. Amazing rooms, lovely breakfast, brilliant hostess and located within an hour of the Lake's top attractions whilst also benefiting from being by the seaside. Don't spend £100s to stay in the Lakes. Spend £70 a night, or so, and stay here!!
