      Hotel is very good - grand lobby and very nice appointed room. Pool is well maintained. Breakfast is buffet - very comprehensive with variety, however, western dishes - e.g. scrambled eggs, poached or omelette do not have any taste - pancakes are really picklets. Supermarket/local green grocer is around the corner, just off main street. Souk area is within walking distance which is also stop for Hop off and on Bus about 3 kilometers walking. It is situated on the Airport Road across the road from the Crown Plaza. It does not have many eating Cafe type of restaurants in the near vicinity. We walked at night, many times on the main road all the way to the Souks and never felt threatened. Taxis are cheap, however, ensure he puts his meter on, and have a map which shows where you want to go. Flag fare is $4.00 qatar, except airport taxi which is flag fare $25 qatar. Note for travellers from Australia, Not all money changers will change Australian Dollars, and the ATM machines will only accept cards with a chip. Overall Hotel was excellent and the staff were extremely helpful. The Hotel had all the modern conveniences and room was very well furnished and all new decor furnishings. The workmenship in the bathroom - laying of tiles let the Hotel down, however, the bathroom was very clean, modern and fresh towels every day. No complaints great hotel and service from the staff was excellent. Staff could not do enough to meet all your needs..

      Good Hotel - bit out of the way (for our purpose)

      Hotel has all the fruit expected. Location is a bit far out from city centre for us as we where on a 2 day stopover. Cannot fault the staff and facilities. Only complaint and it is a minor one - no milk for tea and coffee. Order some from room service and got charged for it.

      Slow check in, noisy room next to the road. Was told I didn't have to give a credit card deposit for room service and then had big issues trying to get room service the following night. Confusing and a little frustrating after a long day. Most staff members helpful.
