Impressive hotel and staff
We spent 12 days at the hotel. The 1 bedroom apartment was impeccable, and very comfortable. The staff are very helpful, efficient and accommodating . Check in and check out was easy. There are several options for dining at the hotel. The dishes at the buffets and a la carte dining are well curated and substantial. The fine dining restaurants are all exceptional. The in-house spa is luxurious, the staff and treatments are professional.The pool and surrounding gardens are beautiful. The hotel takes security very seriously, and we felt safe at all times. We will definitely stay there again.

Amazing to look at / take photos but noisy
Extraordinary building, if not too overwhelming as a hotel. Great spa. Unfortunately it's right under flights taking off from nearby Chennai airport so at the poolside it's constant flight noise and could hear airplanes from inside room all through the night. Really comfortable bed, great linen. Great breakfast, but also noisy in restaurant with very irritating piped music. Also too noisy with music in lounge. Try turning down the noise in hotel you can reduce please, if you can't stop airplanes (but maybe need to update window insulation)! Bathroom fittings a bit old / sharp. Kitchen / living area in apt. very dated and quite scruffed. Very few furnishings / ware.

Be good if offered food/drink service when relaxing at the pool. Good choice of restaurants in the hotel. Staff seem a little disjointed in knowing about the facilities the hotel offers. Ive stayed at this hotel twice. Both were relatively long stays (2 weeks, then 3 weeks) and I had a superb experience both times. The staff is extremely helpful and they are happy go out of their way to ensure your comfort. I got sick last time I was here, they sent the on-call doctor in the middle of the night. I refuse to stay anywhere else in Chennai. The ITC Grand Chola has become my home away from home.

Good food but avoid staying
Food is good and a nice pool area. Accommodation is very disappointing. We stayed in the apartment wing. Corridors are shabby with stained carpets and damaged doors. A fire door was left ajar ( using piece of cardboard) which is a safety violation. The fittings in the room were worn out and shabby. Air conditioning vents have not been cleaned for ages. Certainly not worth the Euro 300 per night. Quality more befitting a 3 star accommodation. Maybe its time the top managers start doing a walk around to see for themselves. Go for the food and avoid staying.
