Dusty average room
The rooms are ok in size, but of all places I've stayed in japan the dust build up in the room was quite a lot, especially around the bed head. However the staff are very polite and helpful, the place is well located and places around to eat are plenty, with trainline down the road for ease.

Small Rooms
The rooms were very small on western standards but normal for Japan, they don't seem to cater for bigger people, our room was only clean once in a 3 days stay and had to ask for clean towels but other than than location was great and the staff were very friendly. They don't really cater for English speaking people as there were no English Tv programs.

Small rooms, charging you for everything.
There's something to be said about a hotel that tries to upsell basic amenities at check in, like extra soap and things like that. If you don't take it up - then you get charges ¥100 for extra towels or soap. It's a bit weird to say the least. The room was tiny, probably more so than expected however it was cleaned to a high standard each day. The bathroom was tiny with a small shower cubicle that was ok. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Except one wanted to charge me ¥1000 for a replacement hotel key until I located where I put mine. I've not heard of this practice. I stayed 12 nights and wanted to stay another 2. They came back to me with a very high price so I didn't extend. It would have been nice to feel a little looked after as a longer staying guest.

Hotel and staff nice but my room, not so much...
The hotel and staff was good but my room wasn't. The window was facing a wall (it was less than 2 meters away) which made the room very dark and claustrophobic. One of the lights wasn't working so the room was even darker. But worse of all, there was a very loud "turbine" sound at night which kept me awake most of the nights (I stayed there 3 nights). I'm sure the other rooms were fine. I was just very unlucky to get that room. So if you're travelling alone, avoid the rooms nr 31 of each floor. They're the ones facing the wall of the other building.

Good hotel, well located, a bit dated.
We checked into the hotel as normal and was given a small room, which is the standard size in Tokyo. The hotel was easy to find, just round the corner from the metro, with easy connection to Ueno station by the Ginza line (2 stops away) , and from Ueno its direct to Narita airport, therefore, very practical if you are flying from Narita Airport. The air in the room was humid and there was condensation due to air conditioning on some objects around the room. Upon flagging this to the hotel staff, they were quick to move us to another (larger) room which we greatly appreciated, therefore, service is very good, and staff are excellent and very nice. The second room had much better ventilation. The room itself is a bit dated when compared to 2 other hotels i stayed in Tokyo, especially the bathroom, but everything worked with no issue. To be aware that the laundry's dryer did not dry completely our clothes which we had to hang around in our room to let to dry.
