Stay at one of the many other, better hotels
Staff could care less about guests. It's like pulling teeth, if they respond at all. Room was musty, smelled like sewage at one point and took several calls to service to get help to turn on a fan. If you're a Hilton Honors member, for some reason they don't seem keen to honor the program (i.e., complimentary breakfast for gold members,). Lowest point in service was being completely ignored when calling from the room when sick and asking for medical care options and no response after several conversations with the front desk.

Something special, but lacking in cohesion
The staff could be described as 'organized chaos'. Some members were exceptional, while others were disconnected. One day we were short a towel - the next we had (literally) 40+ towels left in our room. The Executive Lounge was important to us, but we were surprised to see it treated less like a retreat, and more like a second home for families. Quite often there were numerous children running, jumping, playing, etc. One evening, we tried to work, only to be stymied by a group of three children who insisted upon taking over the precise area we were in. The room was visited at odd hours by staff, each performing a different action (housekeeping/mini bar/turn down) with no apparent set time pattern in an extreme sense. The restaurant and bar staff were also quite puzzling in their actions and demeanor, even to one another. They often seemed both aloof and overburdened. Overall the stay was not unpleasant, but this disconnect between staff and patron was disconcerting - and the use of the Executive Lounge as something other was quite frustrating. The pub noise - even from the third floor -was excessive. It's a beautiful, clean, hotel, with a wonderful concept, in a great location. It just lacked a 'completeness' between staff and venue. I would posit that, just perhaps, some cohesive management might be in order to set the whole thing right. As a manager of 21 individuals myself, I know that when a staff fails in some way, it is up to me to be introspective, first and foremost.

So close to an underground (tube, subway) station that you can get anywhere. Central location to walk to major attractions. Not a lot of restaurants to walk to but enough. The Blue Boar is excellent. Room service was quick and tasty. Staff are attentive and quick to clear bottlenecks. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Clean and comfortable. I would stay here again!

In early Sept I had booked this Hotel on recommendation from a colleague for a very special occasion - I was receiving my MBE at Buckingham Palace. I was travelling with my family and had special requirements which I had expressly set out and had confirmed with Expedia when I booked the accommodation. When we arrived the booking was completely different and didn't suit our needs - rooms had to be changed which meant we were no longer on the same floor. When we arrived at the room the additional bed had not been set up and there was only provision for 2 occupants not 3 eg towels. We then needed additional milk and teabags which eventually came separately, the coffee machine in my sister's room didn't work. Having finally sorted the room we settled in about 10pm only for a truck to arrive outside and start loading and unloading until approx 11.30. - it sounded so loud I could have actually been on the pavement alongside.

Amazing staff, great location, highly recommend!!
From the second we stepped into our hotel, we received the best customer service that you would want in a hotel. Every single staff member did an amazing job at trying to help us enjoy our stay. The front desk attendant checked us in quickly, accommodated our requests, and toured us through the facility and our rooms. The concierge and doormen were expedient and thorough in getting us to where we wanted to go and providing us with helpful info. The staff in the executive lounge made it seem like it was their life's mission to help us enjoy our stay. The location couldn't have been more convenient to all of the major places that we wanted to see. I highly recommend this hotel without any reservation.
