This is a VERY ok hotel. For $200/night i say pay the extra to be at the Marriott across the street. The hotel has a museum in it so i think that’s the drawing force. Other than that, if you don’t plan on seeing the museum I’d advise you to stay somewhere else. Room service has the smallest menu, the PILLOWS that everyone talks about is seriously a big deal! The one pillow they give you

This is not our 1st time staying at a 21C property. We have always been impressed until this time. The property was great, however the service was not. We stood waiting to check-in for over 10 minutes at the desk. The desk worker was on the phone with someone the entire time. She did not look up or acknowledge us at all. Had there been another option to check in, we would have. There is only one desk. We just would have appreciated an acknowledgement. Anything.

Pleasant and Great Location
Nice hotel within walking distance of beautiful old neighborhoods, historic sights, Transylvania University, and restaurants. Rooms were clean and well-appointed, but daily cleaning and linen changes were unavailable because of Covid. There is no lobby, which made it inconvenient to wait for friends. The bar doesn't open until 5--no matter how much you want a drink after touring in Kentucky's heat and humidity--and bar service was average. Front desk and doorman service was excellent.

nice hotel but terrible customer service
As other reviews mentioned, the front desk staff is unhelpful and unfriendly, Super disappointing for such a beautiful hotel. There was zero small talk. They didn’t care where we were from, where we were going, why we were here. I look forward to chatting with the people that know the place when visiting somewhere we have never been. Felt uncomfortable and not cared about. That tone set the overall stay, but the room itself was very nice. I booked a corner King room. She gave us the 6th floor and when my husband asked for a higher floor the unwelcoming front desk lady said they were all sold out. Kind of hard to believe when the same room was still available on hotels.com and we did not see one other guest in the 2 nights/3 days we were there. Owen in valet was the only person that gave us good service. The bed was ok. I sleep on a firm tempurpedic at home, so not sure what others prefer. I didn’t get into this bed thinking oh it’s so comfortable. But it wasn’t uncomfortable. Average to me. Large room with a seating area and nice tv. Love the wall color in the entrance. Large bathroom, nice shower and shower head. Only one bathrobe so that’s confusing. Good location, walking distance to a lot of food options, if they were only open- but Jeff Ruby’s steakhouse was open and was a 3 minute walk around the corner and was an amazing, though on the pricy side, experience. Highlight of our trip was that dinner and Riding horses at Deer Run Stables - Emily G.

Luxury stay but missing basic amenities
The room it’s self was great. Love the modern decor. There was no regular refrigerator. It’s just a bottle refrigerator that will not hold any food or anything. It also was not very cold. There’s no coffee maker. There is no microwave. So it feels like we were missing some basic amenities that are found in other hotels but paid a luxury hotel price. I don’t know if I would ever stay there again because of this. The museum/art gallery areas were very nice. They did well at the restaurant with social distancing, masks, and the food was delicious. I wish there were more menu options but I understand why. Overall if I needed those amenities I would book a different hotel.

Very good COVID precautions, lots of barriers, everyone with masks, temp check going into the lobby. Responsive to ad hoc housekeeping requests. My only criticism would be that my room could have used a b it of a refresh with regards to carpet and paint. Nothing terrible though!
