But a car is needed to get there, and there are no shops or stores within walking distance, so a 10min drive into the nearest town is needed for food at night. However there is cooking facilities if you want to cook your own dinner. There is a wandering cockerel that is rather noisy early in the morning, which can be annoying depending upon which room you are in.

I loved our lanai. We had a Mountain View and my favorite thing was to sit out there. I also loved the banana bread each morning. I’ve been craving it since! I hope you like to wake up early if you stay there as the roosters start at 3:30 am some days!

Staff was great. Not much in terms of amenities - I get the sense this resort is best for long-term stays. We had cockroaches in our room after 2 days (we tried to be sustainable and didn't request cleaning service during our 4-day stay, so that's probably part of it). The resort itself is small and relatively secluded in a neighborhood setting, so it was a nice, quiet, change of pace from Honolulu and other really touristy areas.
