Exceptional 10.0
This hotel was in an excellent location.
We were happy to have our last week in Italy, in such a charming hotel. Although the rooms were small, we had a beautiful, historic sitting area where we could sit in the evenings, & meet other guests, &'discuss our day. Doreen & her husband were amazing & helpful in suggesting different things to do, staying here was not business as usual, but a feeling of being at home. The central location was a plus as we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. There was no shortage of great restaurants within a 5 10 min walk. Our favorite restaurant was Dantes across the bridge. High end restaurant, with reasonable prices. The history is the building is 500 years old, and has been a hotel for 120. We loved our stay here.

Exceptional 10.0
1 starm?? I would give it 5 for service/location.
let me clarify, the 1 star rating is very DECEPTIVE. It is actually AMAZING for a couple who only intends on sleeping there. There is no tv in the Room, nor a fridge but there is a tv in a COMMON area which we didnt use anyway. I would compare the area to Rodeo Drive, considering the high end shops on that block (Fendi, Gucci, Prada, Burberry, etc). I can not say enough about the hostess, she was a class act. very kind, very sweet, and attentive. There is no AC, but they do provide a Fan. you can open the window too. If you are afraid of intruders/mosquitos dont worry. A) you are on the 3rd floor, B) the hotel provides a Citranela pad with a heating mechanism. They refill it daily, as there isnt a "Do not disturd" sign. they do your bed daily, and replenish your supplies. was awkward at first but, the next 2 days were as if it was normal. would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND and would be MOST HAPPY TO RETURN. Also, the late night walks did not seem scary at all.

Exceptional 10.0
charming spot steeped in history
Loved this hotel and the women that run it! Felt like home away from home, but also allowed as much privacy as required. Very clean rooms; the first was a bit too small but a larger room was available and there was not a tremendous price difference. Stay in the larger room was grand! Very spacious for the two of us. The bed was very large and very comfortable. We were there in February, and the room was always warm and comfortable. Everything in the bathroom was functioning well (plenty of hot water, etc,) The daylight streaming through the large window was a true bonus. The murals and the history of the building were fascinating, and the teeny tiny elevator was very handy and too cute. Florence is a very walk-able city and this is in the heart of it. We will stay here again if/when we return.

Good 6.0
Good location, lacks comforts
Hotel is about a 15 minute walk from train station and historic Duomo area. Hotel is located on large street that has expensive shops. You enter through a ground floor lobby. You have to take two flights of stairs to reception area or take a very, very old small elevator (only two people at a time). The building is a few hundred years old. The receptionist/owner answers your questions yet seemed rushed and lacking in some customer service skills. Room has three sets of keys to get to your room. One set opens street level door. The other key opens the door to receptionist and rented rooms. The third key is a antiquated key that opens your room door. Room ceiling is high. Room is filled with well used antique furniture. You have NO amenities such as air conditioning, frig, hot water pot,tv. Our room had a few floor tiles that were loose and not cemented down. Bathroom is remodeled. You get two large floor stand fans. If you open the window at night you will have mosquitoes in room. Towels are renewed every two days and if you want more then you pay extra for them.

Very good 8.0
It's a nice hotel on a pedestrian street with lots of major upscale boutiques. It's a bit off from the main action (meaning the Duomo) but that's just a short walk away. Handy if you want to shop Gucci, Prada, etc. At the end of the street is a nice little square where musicians come to play in the evening. Even though the street is incredibly quiet there's quite a bit of noise late at night from the higher up in the building echoing off the building next door. Bed was pretty firm but the shower was nice and hot. There's a device for mosquitoes in the room, called a Vape, which seemed to work although I did get a few bites presumably there. No biggie. The room is small but I was a single traveller. The hostess is extremely nice and attentive—almost like a mom away from home. There's a nice 17th century fresco in the living room area that covers the entire room. Not sure what it's like in the summer when it's hot. Didn't see any option for air conditioning.
