Initial impressions of our ocean front, one bedroom apartment were favourable. On closer inspection, there are signs of a lack of maintenance and repair. Ripped curtains and outdoor furniture coverings, broken lampshade, broken dishwasher and carpet on its last legs. The cookware provided was scant, annoying as we were staying over a week and wanted to cook some meals ourselves. In addition, we needed to clean all the cookware and dinnerware ourselves before use. Not sure if this state of uncleanliness was due to the broken dishwasher but if guests are being booked into a room with broken appliances, they should be informed and housekeeping should be minimising any issues caused by the breakages.
There was a water outage lasting @6 hours that management handled very poorly with minimal information during the outage, no bottled water available and no apology after the event. The poor reception staff took the brunt of that mismanagement.
Aside from the above, we enjoyed the location, the views were great, the bathroom was great, there was ample free basement parking, the reception staff were great, bed and bedding were good with plenty of hot water when it was running! Price is definitely a factor as this is a great location, newer hotels seem way more expensive and costs here can be reduced by not having daily housekeeping.
Would we stay here again? Not sure. Would we recommend? With caveats, yes.
