I was in 321 which seemed to be as close to the construction site as possible and during my two nights there it was never overtly problematic. Construction never went into the evening hours and typically started around eight or so. The work was sporadic, not overly jarring and the provided ear protection helped block the noise. I’m a light sleeper and managed to still sleep in both days I was there. The staff were fantastic, and very much seem to practice reactive customer service rather than the plastic active customer service found with chains. I very much appreciated their work and help during my stay. The location for a visit to the arts centres of Montreal was fantastic. I really enjoyed the area, so much to offer in terms of food, shopping or entertainment. Great place to be situated for a first visit to the city. Lots of culture within a 20 minute walk from the hotel. The room was well situated. Had blackout and privacy curtains. The room was a little cold, but the heat/air condition combo unit helped get the temperatures where they were comfortable. Noise from other guests was minimal. The bathroom outstanding, the tub was large enough for me as a six foot tall person to soak in it and the provided soaps were great and ethical as well as eco friendly. Fantastic place, very excited at the possibility of returning soon.

Cozy, quaint stay in the city!
This quaint hotel was a dream to stay at. The pictures online matched our experience. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable. They also had eco friendly rooms, including earth friendly toilet paper, tissues and body wash, which was a nice touch (:

Great for a weekend
This is a cute little boutique-style hotel that makes you forget you are in the middle of downtown. The coffee shop (which is also the lobby) downstairs is very convenient. Service was friendly and efficient. Location can't be beat, right next to McGill and a few blocks from the metro. That said, this place isn't for everyone or every type of trip. I could hear people coming up/down the stairs at night. It is an old converted house, so I would expect that. They also mentioned construction but I was there on a weekend so I didn't hear it. A lot of the reviews mention narrow stairs, so maybe not for you if you have heavy luggage or can't walk up one or two flights. Overall I would definitely recommend staying here for a short solo or couples trip. For me, the location, service, and ambience definitely win out.

Clean room. Stairs to 3rd fl. are dangerous, but staff was very helpful with luggage. Parking is difficult. Excellent coffee.

Hotel review
Nice quaint basic hotel in a good location to food and transit. Lots of stairs though with no elevator so something to consider if you have older people with you or lots of luggage.

Great European-style hotel in perfect location
Loved this little hotel, steps from one of the main tourist areas of the city (and only about 2 blocks from the Gray Line bus tour stop, if you're planning on doing that). It's charm - aside from the price for the location - is the way they've converted an old mansion into a hotel, and slapped a cute little cafe in the lobby that seems to be popular with the students from the two universities between which it sits. My only ocmplaint is that the shampoo/conditioner dispensers in the shower were placed in such a way that it made showering without constantly knocking into them a little tricky. Our room was very large, and had nice tall ceilings (12' maybe?). It could have used a fresh coat of paint, and some of the fixtures were looking a little rough, but the condition kind of added to the charm - it reminded me of similar boutique hotels I've stayed at in places like Bern, Munich, and Paris.
