Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel on the Bund by Nanjing Road
"We had a great two night stay at the Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden. Staff were very attentive and helpful upon checking in, allowing us to access our room earlier than anticipated which was a big bonus. The room itself was clean and spacious, and the views were fantastic. The hotel is located minutes away from Yu Garden, but we found it a good location for the Bund area, and a central location for activities further out, which as Disneyland. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other travellers, especially if they want to be close to some key tourist attractions."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Shanghai
- Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly months to visit Shanghai are January, February, and December, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For a fulfilling experience, a stay of at least 3 days is recommended to fully appreciate the city's key landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions. During this time, you can explore museums, temples, and monuments, as well as enjoy the vibrant shopping scene and delightful dining options. This itinerary offers great value for money, allowing you to immerse yourself in the rich history and diverse culture of this fascinating city.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover affordable options for your stay in Shanghai, explore the Deals or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted hotel rates close to your travel dates. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and exclusive last-minute offers, increasing your chances of securing significant savings. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to see the best accommodation deals. With these resources, you'll be well-prepared for a budget-friendly getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you save on your stay in a hotel in Shanghai. For those seeking unique accommodation, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we will suggest alternative dates that could offer you a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be pricier, but with Shanghai's superb public transport connections, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that’s still well linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less congested neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
