Budget base of operations
Couple of hundred meters from the airport bus stop for travelodge. Hotel is in upper floors of the building and there’s a stair climb to the reception area where they also have a locked luggage storage room and bathrooms. Finding the room involved going down and up several more sets of stairs. Adequate size for sleeping in, not big. Very warm on arrival despite outside temperature being freezing. Had a view out of the front of the hotel onto the main road, brick rather than plastered walls, a TV and chair, two bedside cabinets, a wardrobe, various toiletries including mouth wash, good wifi, and a strangely shaped curtain to fit around the air conditioner in the window. No tea or coffee making, the floor was at a slight slope, my water boiling element took over 5 minutes to boil a cup, floor made my feet dirty, and the continental breakfast consisted of bread, toasters, cereal dispensers, fruit juices, tea, coffee and condiments (though it was very good bread). Had no issues with noise except for the occasional person in the corridor and the road works outside where the busses and vans were driving over metal plates. Reasonable base to see the city from, Notre Dame is nearby, and the main train station is a 15 to 30 minute walk (mainly up a shallow hill) depending on your amount of luggage.

great location
The room was very nice. The hotel has been restored with great care. The wood floors are wonderful. You do have to come up a flight of stairs to check in, and most rooms are up another floor or two. And they don't have an elevator, so know that in advance. The location is great, there are many restaurants and shops nearby. (Tim Horton's on the same block), and ChinaTown is about 2 blocks away. It is in town, and we came in on a Saturday night so there was no street parking, but we found the underground parking easy enough. We just had to haul our luggage from the garage to the hotel, instead of being able to unload it right by the hotel.
