Charming, cozy hotel with character. The Kong Carl is conveniently located near the Sandefjord town center, an easy walk from the train station. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The room was as described, complete with mini-fridge and hot water kettle, and both the interior and exterior of the hotel have old-world charm and character. The hotel restaurant is convenient and delicious, with a well-stocked breakfast buffet and superb dinner menu. Walking distance to tasty coffee shops, the Hvaltorvet shopping mall, and the waterfront, among other things. A lovely stay—tusen takk!

Nice staff & smooth checkin. Easy parking in the surrounding area. Excellent breakfast!! And cosy common areas. However... the single room didn't appear anything near the image on hotels.com as I booked, neither was it 15 m2 (more like 10), and the bathroom... I'm happy I'm not a man, or overweight, meaning you pretty much have to back in, and it was extremely tight. And last, as much as I always prefer beds on the softer side, this one was more like a hammock, and not for people with weak backs. Hate giving such a whiny review, but... you ought to know before booking this place.

This hotel was well located in the city but a street or two back from the main area meaning it wasn’t too busy or loud. That said, it was still very easy to walk around the city and get to public transport options. The staff were friendly and helpful finding me things to do and translating different options for me. My room was pretty big compared to what I’ve had previously on my trip but was also comfortable and clean. The history of the house was also a main point for me. It was nice to walk around and look at original photos/paintings and see historic documents was pretty cool.

It's a beautiful old hotel, however, the hotel does not have air conditioning, so if it is warm in Sandifjord, (we were there in July and we had weather in the high 70's) it is almost impossible to sleep. Also, the parking lot is very small, and you will have to park in a parking garage about a block away for $30 EU if there is no space. The morning breakfast is outstanding.

Et eldre men godt vedlikeholdt ærverdig hotell med flott atmosfære og stilige lokaler. Den gamle flotte bygningen gjør jo at det kan bli litt smale ganger men sjarmerende og rommene er store utstyrt med gode senger. Frokosten er variert og god. Bestill parkering, også med mulighet for Elbil lading.
